The CHERRY KC 4500 ERGO (JK-4500GB-2) is the gentle way into ergonomic typing. Instead of splitting the keyboard into two halves, CHERRY curves the key field so your hands meet the keys at a more natural angle, and adds a permanently attached palm rest with a memory-foam PU surface that supports the heel of the hand rather than the wrist joint. Everything else stays familiar: a full 106-key layout with a proper numeric pad, three hotkeys, and a single USB-A plug that works the moment you connect it. The body measures 456 × 217 × 35 mm in a matt black ABS finish, and the free CHERRY KEYS utility lets you remap keys to files, folders, macros or applications. In the box: keyboard with fixed 1.8 m USB cable and documentation.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Layout: UK English QWERTY has the tall Enter key, £ on Shift+3, and @ and " swapped compared with US layout. Letters and numbers are identical to US; if you need the US key shapes, ask us for the US International version. This is a one-piece curved keyboard, not a split or tented one: the adjustment is milder than a Kinesis- or R-Go-style split board, which is exactly why most people adapt to it in a day or two rather than a fortnight. The palm rest is fixed and not removable, so plan for a 456 mm wide footprint on the desk. It is wired only over USB-A with a fixed cable — there is no wireless option and no USB-C plug, so a USB-C-only laptop needs an adapter or a dock. CHERRY lists Windows for the CHERRY KEYS software; the keyboard itself types on macOS and Linux over standard HID, but the utility is Windows-only. There is no backlight. CHERRY does not publish the switch type or the keyboard weight for this model.
