The Zebra 04800BK06045 is a genuine Zebra 4800 Performance Resin thermal transfer ribbon in black, 60 mm x 450 m on a 25 mm (1") core, supplied as a box of 12 rolls for Zebra industrial label printers. It is aimed at sites printing asset tags, laboratory and chemical labels, electronics and automotive identification on synthetic labels.

Zebra formulates 4800 Performance Resin for matte and gloss synthetics and selected topcoated papers. In Zebra's own words the result is excellent chemical, smear and scratch resistance, tolerating heat, steam and solvents. Use it when the label stock matches that profile; if your labels are a different material, the ribbon choice changes before anything else does.

• 450 m is the full-length Zebra industrial format, so you change ribbons far less often than with desktop-size rolls.
• Match ribbon to label: resin ribbons pair with matte and gloss synthetics and selected topcoated papers. The wrong pairing gives faded, smearing or flaking barcodes even when the printer settings look right.
• Width matters: run the ribbon slightly wider than the label so the printhead never touches bare label stock, which shortens printhead life.
• Store unopened rolls in their box; Zebra quotes a shelf life of 1 year when stored at 5–35 °C and 20–80% RH.

• Direct-thermal-only printers (for example the ZD421d, ZD220d or GK420d, or industrial models ordered as direct thermal only) — they have no ribbon spindle.
• Zebra desktop printers that take 74 m or 300 m ribbons (ZD, GK, GX, GC series) — 450 m rolls on this core are sized for industrial printers.
• Labels wider than 60 mm — the ribbon must cover the full printed area, so wider labels need a wider ribbon.
• Applications outside the formulation: uncoated paper labels (resin does not anchor well) and high-speed printing above 6 ips.
