The StarTech.com 4POSTRACK18U is a 18U, 19″ four-post open frame server rack that ships flat-packed and assembles into a floor-standing frame with adjustable depth. Its L-shaped rails move between 56 and 101.7 cm (22–40″) of mounting depth, so the same rack takes short switches and patch panels as well as full-depth servers that need support at the front and the rear. The frame is cold-rolled steel in black, follows EIA/ECA-310-E, and carries up to 544 kg standing and 300 kg on its casters. Four casters and four levelling feet are both in the box, so you decide whether the rack is mobile or fixed. At 18U it stays under one metre tall on its casters. In practice it is an open, easy-to-reach frame for a server room, lab or equipment corner where airflow and quick access matter more than locking doors.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Open frame — no doors, side panels or locks. Equipment stays visible and reachable, so the rack belongs in a room that is already secured. Mounting depth 56–101.7 cm: rail-kit servers need both rail pairs, so set the depth to the rail kit of your deepest server before loading. The rails have square holes for M6 cage nuts (24 supplied); equipment is fixed with cage nuts and screws, not directly into the rail. The rack is not wall-mountable. Shelves, PDUs and blanking panels are sold separately. Tell us the models of your server, switch and UPS and we check depth and load for you.

Yes, if the server rail kit fits a mounting depth between 56 and 101.7 cm. Set the rails to the rail kit before you load the rack.
Does it come assembled?
No. It ships flat-packed; the bolts, cage nuts, wrenches and a screwdriver are in the box.
Can I put it on wheels?
Yes. Four casters and four levelling feet are included. StarTech.com rates it for 300 kg when rolling.
Does it lock?
