WD My Book 16TB — Secure Desktop Backup
16 TB Capacity256-bit AES HardwareUSB 3.0Password Protection
The WD My Book (WDBBGB0160HBK) is a 16TB desktop external hard drive with always-on 256-bit AES hardware encryption and password protection, built for anyone who needs large, secure backup and archive storage at their desk. The part number WDBBGB0160HBK identifies the 16TB black model in the My Book range. It connects over USB 3.0, includes WD backup and security software, and uses a mains power adapter so all that capacity is ready to protect your photos, videos and documents. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Before you buy — power, format & encryption
This is a 3.5-inch desktop drive that uses the included mains power adapter, not USB bus power. Hardware encryption is always on; set a password with WD Security to lock the drive. It ships NTFS-formatted for Windows — reformat to exFAT or APFS for full Mac use.

Singular Expert Insight
The My Book is WD's go-to secure desktop backup drive, and the built-in hardware encryption sets it apart from plain expansion drives — your data is protected by a password with no performance penalty. It is a single-drive unit, so unlike the two-bay My Book Duo it has no RAID redundancy; if you want mirrored protection, step up to a RAID storage appliance. For secure single-drive backup at a desk, though, the My Book is a dependable, high-value choice.
Buyer's Guide
Buy it if
You need large 16TB desktop backup with built-in hardware encryption and password protection, plus easy WD backup software.
Skip it if
You need RAID redundancy (get a My Book Duo or NAS), a portable drive to carry, or SSD speed — this is a single mains-powered desktop HDD.
Also consider
The My Book Duo for RAID mirroring, a portable drive for travel, or a different capacity My Book if 16TB is more or less than you need.
