EFB EC020200180 — Cat 6A S/FTP Patch Cable, 1.5 m, Yellow

Cat 6A · 10 GbpsCat 7 raw cableS/FTP PiMFLSZH · 1.5 m
The EFB EC020200180 is a 1.5 m yellow Cat 6A S/FTP patch cable built on Cat 7 raw cable for 10 Gigabit Ethernet links between switches, patch panels, servers and workstations. Part number EC020200180 (EAN 4049759290283) uses fully shielded PiMF construction — foil around every pair plus an overall braid — with an LSZH halogen-free jacket, AWG 27/7 stranded copper conductors and gold-plated RJ45 plugs wired 1:1 to T568B. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Before you buy — compatibility note
This is a standard RJ45 male-to-male patch cord, not installation cable — do not punch it down. Full 10 Gbps needs Cat 6A-rated ports at both ends; with Cat 6/5e equipment it simply runs at that equipment's speed. The raw cable is Cat 7 grade, but the RJ45 plugs set the link class to Cat 6A — it is not a Cat 7 (GG45/TERA) channel. EFB publishes no PoE class for this cord; for guaranteed 4PPoE (802.3bt) choose the EFB MK6001 series.

Key Features

Fully shielded S/FTP PiMF
Each twisted pair has its own foil screen and the bundle carries an overall braid, keeping alien crosstalk and EMI low in dense racks — the construction Cat 6A needs for reliable 10GBASE-T.

LSZH halogen-free jacket
Low-smoke, zero-halogen sheath for offices, data rooms and public buildings where fire-safety rules exclude PVC. 6 mm outer diameter, stranded AWG 27/7 copper for flexible patching.

Locking-lug protection + length imprint
Moulded anti-kink boots with locking-lug protection stop the RJ45 latch snagging or breaking, and the length is printed on the boot for quick identification in the rack.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the EFB EC020200180 support 10 Gigabit Ethernet?
Yes. It is a Cat 6A S/FTP cord rated for 500 MHz channels, so it carries 10GBASE-T at its 1.5 m length between Cat 6A-rated switch and network-card ports. With older Cat 6 or Cat 5e equipment it works too, at that equipment's speed.
Can I use the EC020200180 for PoE devices?
Physically yes — the copper AWG 27/7 conductors carry PoE like any Cat 6A cord — but EFB publishes no PoE class for this article. If you need guaranteed 4PPoE (IEEE 802.3bt) for high-power access points or cameras, choose the EFB MK6001 series, which lists 802.3af/at/bt.
What is the difference between the EC020200180 and a Cat 6 patch cable?
Cat 6 is specified to 250 MHz and 10 Gbps only over short runs; Cat 6A is specified to 500 MHz and 10 Gbps over the full 100 m channel, and its S/FTP shielding suppresses crosstalk in dense bundles. For a 1.5 m patch the Cat 6A cord gives headroom for 10G upgrades.
Singular Expert Insight
The EC020200180 is a sensible default patch cord for a 10G-ready rack: fully shielded, halogen-free and built on Cat 7 raw cable for extra margin. EFB makes the same 1.5 m cord in several colours, so you can colour-code uplinks, servers and user ports. Pair it with Cat 6A network switches to get the full 10 Gbps. If you need certified 802.3bt PoE, step up to the EFB MK6001; if you only run 1 Gbps, a Cat 6 cord is cheaper.

Buyer's Guide

Buy it if
You need a 1.5 m shielded Cat 6A cord for 10GBASE-T patching and want an LSZH jacket for fire-safety compliance.
Skip it if
You need a published 802.3bt PoE rating, a slim cord for high-density panels, or an outdoor/UV-resistant cable.
Also consider
EFB EC0202000 plain Cat 6A cords (500 MHz) or EFB MK6001 Cat 6A with 4PPoE.
