How to choose the right iMac
- 8-core or 10-core. The M4 iMac comes with an 8-core or 10-core CPU and GPU. The 10-core models are faster in photo, video and design work and have four Thunderbolt ports instead of two.
- Ethernet. On the 10-core models, Gigabit Ethernet is built into the power adapter. On the 8-core models it is optional, so check the listing if you need a wired network.
- Memory cannot be upgraded later. Choose it when you buy. 16 GB suits office work; 24 GB or 32 GB is better for heavy multitasking, photo and video editing.
- Storage. 256 GB fills quickly. Choose 512 GB or 1 TB if you keep files locally, or plan for cloud or external storage.
- Keyboard layout. Some configurations ship with a non-English keyboard (for example German). Check the listing, or ask us for the layout you need.
- Prefer your own screen? The Mac mini uses the same Apple silicon with any monitor.
