Before you choose
- Bays. Check that your case has a free 5.25-inch or 3.5-inch external bay; many new cases have none.
- Hot-swap. Hot-swapping needs AHCI enabled in the BIOS and safe removal in the operating system.
- Connections. Count the SATA ports and power connectors each rack needs.
