Manhattan 353298 USB-A to USB-C Cable — 480 Mbit/s, 1 m
USB 2.0480 Mbit/sup to 3 A1 m
The Manhattan 353298 is a 1 m USB-A to USB-C cable with up to 480 Mbit/s (USB 2.0 Hi-Speed) data transfer and charging current up to 3 A, made for anyone connecting a USB-C phone, tablet, drive or accessory to a computer, charger, car socket or hub that has USB-A ports.
At 480 Mbit/s this is a charge-and-sync cable: right for phones, tablets, game controllers, keyboards, mice, headsets, e-readers and small USB-C gadgets. Copying a few photos or a document is fine; moving hundreds of gigabytes is not what it is for.
Before you order, check two things: the socket on your device must be USB-C (not Micro-USB or Lightning), and the port you plug into must be USB-A. If both your charger and your device are USB-C, a USB-C to USB-C cable is the better buy because it supports USB Power Delivery.
Before you order: USB-A carries no USB Power Delivery and no video. How fast a device charges depends on the USB-A port or charger you plug into — the cable cannot add watts the port does not supply.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Manhattan USB 2.0 Type-A to Type-C device cable, 1 m, black
What It Means in Practice
- Length 1 m: the everyday desk length — reaches from a computer or charger to a device on the same desk or bedside table.
- Charging: charging current up to 3 A — enough for phones, tablets, earbuds and controllers from a standard USB-A charger or computer port.
- Works with wall chargers, PCs, laptops, car sockets, power banks and USB hubs that have USB-A ports.
- Plug-and-play: no driver needed on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, Android or iPadOS.
What Will Not Work
- No video: it will not drive a USB-C monitor, portable display or projector — USB-A has no DisplayPort Alt Mode.
- No USB Power Delivery: a USB-C laptop that needs 45–100 W will charge very slowly or not at all from a USB-A port through this cable.
- Not a Thunderbolt or USB4 cable, and it will not turn a USB-A port into a USB-C port for USB-C-only chargers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it fast-charge my USB-C laptop?
Usually not. Laptops charge over USB Power Delivery, which needs a USB-C charger and a USB-C to USB-C cable. From a USB-A port you get standard USB charging, which can at best slow the battery drain on some laptops.
Does it work with an iPhone 15 or newer?
Yes — iPhone 15 and later use USB-C, so the cable charges and syncs them from a USB-A charger, computer or car socket at standard USB speed.
Will it work in a USB 2.0 or USB 3 port?
Yes. USB is backward compatible: the cable works in any USB-A port and the connection runs at the slower of the port, cable and device speeds.
Can I use it in the car?
Yes, in any USB-A car socket or 12 V USB-A adapter. Charging speed depends on the socket: many built-in car ports give only 0.5–1 A.
