3M Bright Screen Privacy Filter BP145W1B — 14.5" 16:10 bezel-fit laptop filter
85% light transmission60° privacy black-outReversible matte / glossyCOMPLY Flip Attach
The 3M Bright Screen Privacy Filter BP145W1B is a 14.5-inch 16:10 privacy screen for laptops whose screen sits inside a raised bezel, using 3M Nanolouver technology to black out the display for anyone viewing from outside a 60° angle while passing on average 85% of the screen brightness. It is made for people who handle confidential data in open-plan offices, on trains and flights, and at client sites.
3M rates the Bright Screen line up to 25% brighter than other black privacy filters, so the screen stays readable without turning the backlight up. The filter is reversible — glossy side for clarity, matte side to cut glare and fingerprints — helps reduce blue light without distorting colours, and comes with 3M COMPLY Flip Attach so you can lift it up to share your screen and lower it again for privacy.
Before you order: BP145W1B is the bezel-fit version for 14.5" 16:10 laptops whose screen sits inside a raised frame. If your laptop has edge-to-edge glass, you need the full-screen (E) version. Size and aspect ratio must both match your screen.
What's in the Box
- 1 × 3M Bright Screen Privacy Filter BP145W1B (14.5", 16:10)
- 3M COMPLY Flip Attach (lets you flip the filter up and down)
- 3M COMPLY adhesive strips (alternative attachment)
What It Means in Practice
- People beside you see a dark screen once they are outside the 60° viewing zone; you, sitting in front, see a normal bright image.
- With 85% average light transmission you usually need little or no extra screen brightness — useful when working on battery.
- Glossy side out for the sharpest image; matte side out when windows or ceiling lights reflect on the screen.
- Flip Attach lets you show the screen to a colleague and return to privacy in a second, without peeling anything off.
- At 0.290 mm thin and touch-compatible, it can stay on a touchscreen laptop while you use touch.
What Will Not Work
- It does not hide the screen from someone directly behind you — privacy works on side angles.
- It will not fit laptops with edge-to-edge (frameless) glass screens — that needs the full-screen (E) version.
- Same diagonal but a different aspect ratio (16:9, 16:10, 3:2, 4:3) leaves gaps or overhang — both must match.
- It is a privacy and anti-glare filter, not impact protection — it will not prevent a cracked screen.
- It is not meant for external monitors; 3M makes separate monitor privacy filters.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Bright Screen is 3M's brightest laptop privacy line: the 85% transmission is the practical difference against older black filters, which visibly dim the display. The decision that really matters is fit — diagonal, aspect ratio and bezel versus full-screen. If you need another size, see all display and privacy filters.
✓ Buy it if your laptop has a 14.5" 16:10 screen inside a raised bezel and you work where others can see your display.
✕ Skip it if your screen is edge-to-edge glass or a different aspect ratio — that needs another 3M version.
→ Also consider another size or aspect ratio from our display and privacy filter range — send us your laptop model.
Not sure which version fits? Send us your laptop model (from the label underneath) and we will confirm the right 3M filter before you order.
