3M PF240W9EM Privacy Filter for 24" Full Screen Monitor 16:9, COMPLY Magnetic Attach, Glossy/Matte, Black

The 3M PF240W9EM is a black-out privacy filter for the 24" 16:9 full screen (frameless, flat glass) monitor: anyone looking from the side, outside a 60-degree viewing angle, sees a dark screen, while you keep a clear picture from the front. It is made for offices, reception and service desks, open-plan floors and anyone who works with personal, financial or customer data on screen.

"Full Screen" means 3M designed it for frameless monitors with flat front glass: the filter spans the display from edge to edge, eliminating alignment issues with the active display area. It mounts with 3M COMPLY Magnetic Attach: two small bars go on the top edge of the monitor and the filter clicks onto them magnetically, so it comes off in seconds for screen sharing and clicks back without re-alignment.

Both sides are usable: a glossy side for the crispest look and a matte side that cuts glare and fingerprints. 3M also states that the filter helps reduce blue light without distorting the natural colours of the display. The filter is made in the USA, TAA compliant and 100% hand-inspected.

• A colleague beside your desk, a visitor at reception or a passenger next to you in a shared space sees a dark screen; you see the normal image from the front.
• Turn the filter to the glossy side for a brighter, sharper look, or to the matte side if overhead lights or windows reflect on the screen.
• Need to show something on screen? Unclip the filter from the magnetic bars, then click it back on: no re-alignment and no new adhesive.
• 3M builds the filter to withstand hundreds of cleanings, so it is meant to stay on the monitor for everyday use, not as a temporary cover.

• A monitor of a different size or aspect ratio: a 24" 16:10 screen, for example, needs a different 3M model.
• Monitors with a raised bezel: 3M states the magnetic attach is not designed for them. For those, 3M makes the Black Privacy Filter (B) models.
• Laptops, tablets and phones: 3M makes separate privacy filters for those devices.
• Someone standing directly behind you: the black-out works for side views outside the 60-degree angle, not for someone looking over your shoulder from straight behind.
• Touchscreen use: 3M does not state compatibility for this model, so ask us before ordering for such a display.
• Users with a pacemaker or defibrillator: 3M warns to keep the magnets of the COMPLY attach away from these devices.
