HP 740pm Series 7 Pro 40" Curved 5K2K Thunderbolt Monitor
Premium 40" curved 5K2K WUHD productivity monitor — Thunderbolt 3 100W dock, built-in KVM, daisy chain and immersive 21:9 ultrawide workspace for executive and creative desks.
5K2K · 5120×2160Thunderbolt 3 · 100W PDDaisy chain + KVMBuilt-in speakers
The HP 740pm Series 7 Pro is a 40-inch curved 5K2K WUHD (5120 × 2160) productivity monitor — same horizontal workspace as two 27" 1440p monitors with no central bezel. Built around a curved IPS panel, it adds dual Thunderbolt 3 with 100 W laptop charging, built-in KVM, USB hub and daisy chain output — replacing a docking station for premium MacBook Pro and HP EliteBook deployments.
Best For
✓ Premium hybrid work & executive desks
✓ Engineering CAD & coding
✓ Video editing timelines
✓ Financial & trading desks
✓ MacBook Pro 14"/16" docking
✓ Two-PC KVM (work + personal)
Key Features
40" Curved 5K2K WUHD
Native 5120 × 2160 on a curved IPS panel — equivalent horizontal workspace to dual 27" QHD monitors with no central bezel. The curve keeps the edges within natural eye distance.
Thunderbolt 3 + 100W PD
Dual TB3 ports with 100 W Power Delivery charge MacBook Pro 14"/16" at full speed and carry video, USB hub data and Ethernet through a single cable. Daisy-chain output supports a second monitor.
Built-in KVM
Switch one keyboard, mouse and screen between two source PCs from an OSD hotkey — work laptop + home desktop on the same display without a third-party KVM box.
Speakers + ergonomic stand
Built-in speakers, full ergonomic stand (height/tilt/swivel) and integrated cable management — a clean executive desk setup right out of the box.

Singular Expert Insight
Choose HP 740pm if you want a single curved 40" 5K2K display that replaces dual QHD monitors plus a dock — premium hybrid offices and creative desks. If you do colour-critical photo/video, pick EIZO ColorEdge or BenQ SW. If 5K2K is overkill, the EIZO EV3895 37.5" UWQHD+ at lower cost is the better office pick.
Buyer's Guide
Buy it if
You need a 40" curved 5K2K productivity display with Thunderbolt 3 docking and KVM — executive desks, CAD/engineering, premium hybrid offices.
Skip it if
You do colour-critical photo/video (use ColorEdge / BenQ SW), need true HDR1000 or you find 40" curved too large (pick EIZO EV3895 37.5").
Also consider
EIZO EV3895 (37.5" UWQHD+), LG 40WP95C (40" 5K2K alternative) or Dell U4025QW.
