Multi-gigabit PoE++ access with two fast uplinks
4 × 2.5G PoE++2 × 10G SFP+240 W total PoEFanless GaN power
The TRENDnet TPE-BG5062 connects four multi-gigabit copper devices and provides two 10G SFP+ uplink or downlink connections. Its internal GaN power supply delivers a shared 240 W PoE budget, with up to 95 W available on an individual PoE++ port within that total. This unmanaged switch needs no web configuration and uses a fanless metal enclosure.
Best For: Small business networks needing high-power PoE access points, cameras or compatible signage alongside fast SFP+ uplinks.
Before you order: Add up the power requirements of all attached devices: 240 W is shared across four PoE ports, not available on each one. Match the PoE standard and power requirement of each device. SFP+ cages require compatible transceivers and fiber or a suitable DAC, sold separately. Provide mains power, ventilation and a suitable rack location.
What's in the Box
- TPE-BG5062 switch, rack-mount kit and 1.5 m power cord.
- SFP/SFP+ modules, fiber, DACs, Ethernet cables and connected devices are separate.
What It Means in Practice
- Use existing suitable Cat5e or better cabling for up to 2.5 Gbps on the four RJ45 ports. Link speed depends on both endpoints and cabling.
- Connect compatible PoE, PoE+ or PoE++ devices while keeping their combined requirement within 240 W.
- Use the two SFP+ cages for compatible high-speed links. They do not supply PoE.
- Connect devices without management setup. Network VLAN design and advanced management must be handled by appropriate equipment elsewhere.
What Will Not Work
- Four copper ports plus two SFP+ cages, not six RJ45 PoE ports.
- Four devices cannot each draw 95 W simultaneously because the shared budget is 240 W.
- No managed-switch web interface or configurable VLAN features are claimed.
- This is AC-powered, not a PoE-powered passthrough switch.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are all six ports RJ45?
No. Four are 2.5G RJ45 PoE++ ports and two are SFP+ cages.
Can all four ports deliver 95 W together?
No. Per-port capability is up to 95 W but the combined budget is 240 W.
Are SFP+ transceivers included?
They are not listed in the package contents. Select compatible modules and fiber or DAC separately.
Does it need an external power adapter?
It has an internal AC GaN power supply and includes a power cord. It needs a suitable mains outlet.
Can I configure VLANs through a web page?
This is an unmanaged plug-and-play switch. No management interface is claimed.
Singular Expert Insight
Choose this switch by its four powered copper ports and shared power allowance. The two SFP+ links can carry traffic toward the rest of the network, but their usable speed depends on compatible modules, cabling and the remote endpoint. Check those parts and the power calculation before installation.
Buyer’s Guide
✓ Buy it if You need four 2.5G high-power PoE connections and two SFP+ links without local switch management.
✕ Skip it if You need six copper PoE ports, configurable management or four simultaneous 95 W loads.
→ Also consider Device power requirements, compatible uplink hardware, cabling, ventilation and rack space.
