PLANET MGS-6311-8P2X Managed L3 Switch 8x 2.5G 802.3at PoE+ + 2x 10G SFP+ 240W 1U Multi-Gig

8× 2.5G PoE+2× 10G SFP+L3 Managed Routing240 W PoE Budget

The PLANET MGS-6311-8P2X is a managed Layer 3 multi-gig switch with eight 2.5G PoE+ ports and two 10G SFP+ uplinks. It powers and connects Wi-Fi 6/7 APs and multi-gig cameras at 2.5 Gbps, aggregates to 10G fibre, and routes between VLANs with full L3 features. The 1U rackmount chassis (part number MGS-6311-8P2X) fits business and campus cores. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Eight RJ-45 ports are 2.5G Multi-Gig (2.5G/1G/100M) with 802.3at PoE+ up to 30 W each, sharing a budget up to 240 W; two 10G SFP+ slots (backward compatible with 1G/2.5G) take fibre transceivers or DAC cables (sold separately). As an L3 managed switch it does static and dynamic routing, VLANs, ACLs, QoS and IPv6 via web GUI, CLI and SNMP. Internal AC supply, 1U rackmount.

Frequently Asked Questions
How fast are the copper ports?
The eight RJ-45 ports are 2.5G Multi-Gig, auto-negotiating 2.5G/1G/100M, so they suit Wi-Fi 6/7 APs and multi-gig cameras over Cat 5e/6.
How much PoE power is available?
Each port supports 802.3at PoE+ up to 30 W, with a budget up to 240 W — enough to power several multi-gig APs or cameras.
Does it do routing?
Yes. It is an L3 managed switch with static and dynamic routing, VLANs and IPv6, so it works as a distribution or core router-switch.
What are the SFP+ ports for?
The two 10G SFP+ slots aggregate uplinks to a core or fibre backbone, using transceivers or DAC cables (sold separately); they also accept 1G/2.5G modules.
Singular Expert Insight
The MGS-6311-8P2X is a future-proof edge core: 2.5G PoE+ for Wi-Fi 6/7 access points and multi-gig IP cameras, with 10G SFP+ aggregation and full L3 routing in 1U. It is ideal where Gigabit is no longer enough at the edge. If you need 90 W PoE++ look at an 802.3bt model; for pure 1G PoE, a Gigabit managed switch is cheaper.

Buyer's Guide

Buy it if
You need 2.5G PoE for Wi-Fi 6/7 APs or multi-gig cameras plus 10G fibre uplinks and L3 routing in a compact 1U.
Skip it if
You only need Gigabit ports, or you need 90 W PoE++ — choose a Gigabit or 802.3bt model.
Also consider
A Gigabit L3 PoE switch if 2.5G is not needed, or an 802.3bt model for 90 W PoE++.
