ABUS NVR10031 — 16-Channel 4K Recorder for IP Camera Systems
16 IP channelsUp to 8 MP (4K)2 HDD bays · up to 32 TBHDMI 4K output
The ABUS NVR10031 is a 16-channel network video recorder that records and displays IP cameras of up to 8 MP (4K) each, for businesses and properties that want central recording, live view on a monitor and remote access through the ABUS app or CMS software.
It accepts 160 Mbit/s of incoming camera bandwidth, holds two SATA hard drives of up to 16 TB each, and outputs 4K on HDMI to a local monitor. Alarm inputs and outputs, VCA processing for ABUS cameras with person and vehicle detection, and smart search make reviewing events faster.
Before you order: This model has no PoE ports — the cameras need a PoE switch or injectors. Hard drives are not included. If you want PoE built in, the separate model NVR10031P is the one to ask about.
What's in the Box
- ABUS NVR10031 16-channel network video recorder
- External power supply
- USB mouse
- 2 SATA cables
- Mounting material, quick guide and safety notes
- No hard drives included
What It Means in Practice
- Budget one PoE switch port per camera and two surveillance hard drives for the recorder.
- With 2 × 16 TB you have up to 32 TB of recording space; how many days that gives depends on camera count, resolution and bit rate.
- Connect a 4K monitor over HDMI for a live 16-way view at a reception or security desk.
- Two Gigabit ports let you keep the camera network separate from the office network.
What Will Not Work
- Analog or analog HD (BNC) cameras cannot be connected — it records IP cameras only.
- There is no RAID, so a failed disk means losing the recordings on that disk.
- No built-in PoE: cameras are not powered by the recorder.
- ABUS lists it as not compatible with Secoris and wAppLoxx Pro systems.

Frequently Asked Questions
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
A 16-channel NVR with 4K support is a good centre for a growing business system: start with a few cameras and add more later. Fit it with proper 24/7 surveillance hard drives rather than desktop disks, and plan a PoE switch for the cameras.
✓ Buy it if you are installing or expanding an IP camera system of up to 16 cameras and want local 4K recording.
✕ Skip it if you have analog/BNC cameras, need RAID redundancy, or want PoE ports in the recorder itself.
→ Also consider ABUS IP cameras such as TVIP42510 or IPCS29512, a PoE switch and surveillance hard drives.
Planning a system? Send us the number of cameras, their resolution and how many days of recording you want, and we will size the disks and switch.
