The ABUS TVIP82561 is a compact 2 MP pan-tilt-zoom dome camera that can connect either by cable with PoE or over 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. It suits small businesses, shops and homes that want to look around a yard, car park or warehouse and zoom in on detail, from the ABUS Link Station app or a recorder.
The 2.8–12 mm motorised lens gives 4x optical zoom, the head pans 355° at up to 100°/s and can store 300 preset positions. Built-in analytics such as intrusion, tripwire and unattended object send alerts by e-mail or push notification, and recordings can go to microSD, an ABUS NVR or a NAS.
Before you order: In Wi-Fi mode the camera still needs power: a separate 12 V DC supply is required and ABUS does not list one as included. With a cable, a single PoE 802.3af port powers it and carries the data.

What It Means in Practice
- On PoE you run one network cable: power, video and control together.
- On Wi-Fi you save the data cable but still need a power outlet near the camera, and 2.4 GHz coverage at the mounting point.
- Use presets to jump between a gate, a door and a parking space; the camera returns to them precisely.
- The free Link Station Lite plan includes 60 minutes of remote streaming per month; Link Station Pro removes the limit.
What Will Not Work
- Wi-Fi is 2.4 GHz only — a 5 GHz-only network will not work.
- Pan is 355°, not continuous 360° rotation.
- There is a built-in microphone but no loudspeaker, so no talk-back.
- No dedicated alarm inputs or outputs are listed.
- ABUS lists it as not compatible with Secvest, Smartvest and wAppLoxx systems.

A PTZ dome makes sense when one camera must watch several spots and zoom in when something happens. For permanent, reliable recording we still prefer PoE over Wi-Fi; one of our PoE switches powers it with a single cable.
