The ABUS TVAC40020 is a 3 m preassembled 75 Ohm coaxial video cable with a male BNC connector on each end, for connecting analog and analog HD surveillance cameras to a hard-disk recorder (DVR) or a monitor. Because the connectors are factory-fitted, there is no crimping and no risk of a badly terminated plug causing a noisy picture.

ABUS designs it for short indoor runs such as recorder-to-monitor connections in a rack or office, or patching a camera line into the DVR. It is part of a series of ready-made BNC cables from 1 m to 20 m.

• Use it between a DVR and a monitor with a BNC input, or between a wall outlet and the recorder.
• Factory-fitted BNC plugs give a reliable, low-loss connection without tools.
• A 5 mm diameter cable is easy to route through cable ducts and rack trays.
• For longer distances choose the 5 m, 10 m or 20 m versions of the same series.

• It does not carry power to the camera.
• It is rated for indoor use only — outdoors use a cable rated for exterior installation.
• IP cameras do not use BNC; they need network (RJ45) cable.
• It does not convert between BNC and HDMI or VGA — monitors without a BNC input need an adapter or converter.
