ABUS IP Spherical Dome 4 MPx (2.8 mm, WL) — 4 MP spherical (turret) dome camera, 2.8 mm, colour night vision
4 MP · 2688 × 15202.8 mm · 108°White light 30 mPoE · IP67
The ABUS IP Spherical Dome 4 MPx (2.8 mm, WL) (IPCS54511A) is a 4-megapixel network spherical (turret) dome camera for entrances, facades, warehouses and offices, with a fixed 2.8 mm lens covering 108° H × 55° V and 2 white-light LEDs that keep the picture in full colour at night (up to 30 m) — there is no infrared.
It streams 2688 × 1520 at 25 fps in H.265 or H.264, runs on 12 V DC ±25% or PoE IEEE 802.3af (7 W max), records to an optional microSD card up to 256 GB and works with ABUS NVRs, ABUS CMS and the ABUS Link Station app. Built-in analytics classify people and vehicles, so tripwire and intrusion alarms ignore moving branches, animals and headlights.
Before you order: No power supply is included — plan a PoE (IEEE 802.3af) switch port or injector, or a 12 V DC adapter. Don’t order the wrong twin: IPCA54512A has a similar 2.8 mm view but adds infrared next to the white light.
What's in the Box
- ABUS IP Spherical Dome 4 MPx (2.8 mm, WL) camera, white metal housing
- Connection pigtail for network and 12 V DC
- Quick guide and safety notes
- Not included: power supply, microSD card, network cable and junction/installation box
What It Means in Practice
- 108° horizontal view with the 2.8 mm lens: wide enough to cover a typical entrance, shop floor or small car park from one corner.
- Night footage stays in colour (clothing, car colours) because the white LEDs light the scene — visible light that also acts as a deterrent.
- One Cat5e/Cat6 cable carries power and video (7 W max), so the camera mounts wherever a network cable can reach.
- Person/vehicle classification means far fewer false push alerts from trees, cats and rain than plain motion detection.
- With a microSD card it keeps recording locally if the recorder or network goes down.
What Will Not Work
- Wi-Fi: this is a wired network camera with no wireless connection.
- Talk-back: it has a built-in microphone but no speaker, so it can listen but not speak.
- Invisible night recording: there is no infrared — the white LEDs light the scene visibly, which neighbours and passers-by will notice.
- Wired alarm contacts: there are no alarm input/output terminals — use the analytics events or the recorder for alarm logic.
- Zoom: the fixed 2.8 mm lens has no optical zoom; for plates or faces far away choose a varifocal or PTZ model.
- Third-party recorders: ABUS does not list ONVIF support for this model, so plan an ABUS NVR, ABUS CMS or the Link Station app.
- Consumer cloud apps (Ring, Arlo, Google Home): it is a professional ABUS system camera, not a consumer cloud camera.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which recorder do I need?
Use an ABUS NVR, ABUS CMS or the Link Station app — ABUS does not list ONVIF for this model. Tell us your recorder and we will check it.
What do I need to power it?
A PoE (IEEE 802.3af) switch port or injector, or a 12 V DC adapter; it draws up to 7 W.
Will the white light bother neighbours?
The white LEDs are visible light and they are what makes colour night images possible — with no infrared, the scene relies on them after dark. If that is a problem on site, choose an IR/WL model.
Is a microSD card or junction box included?
No. Add a microSD card (up to 256 GB) for local recording, and an ABUS installation box if you want the cable connection protected outdoors.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
We supply ABUS cameras to Cypriot businesses that want a European brand with its own NVR, app and alarm ecosystem. Pick white light only if you want colour at night and the visible light is acceptable on site. Browse more
IP cameras or ask us for a full camera + NVR + PoE switch quote.
✓ Buy it if you need a wide view with colour night recording on an ABUS or ONVIF system.
✕ Skip it if visible light at night is a problem on site — choose an IR/WL model instead.
→ Also consider IPCA54512A has a similar 2.8 mm view but adds infrared next to the white light.
