The ABUS IP PTZ Dome 4 MPx (32x) (IPCS84551) is a 4-megapixel network PTZ dome camera for large sites such as car parks, logistics yards, campuses and long building perimeters, with a 5.9–189 mm (32x optical, 16x digital) autofocus lens covering 2.6–50.8° H × 1.5–29.4° V and infrared night vision up to 200 m in black and white.
It streams 2560 × 1440 at 25 fps in H.265 or H.264, runs on 24 V AC ±10% or PoE IEEE 802.3bt (42 W max), records to an optional microSD card up to 256 GB and works with ABUS NVRs, ABUS CMS and the ABUS Link Station app. Built-in analytics classify people and vehicles, so tripwire and intrusion alarms ignore moving branches, animals and headlights.
Before you order: This camera needs IEEE 802.3bt (High PoE) or 24 V AC — a normal PoE or PoE+ switch port will not power it. ABUS recommends the TVAC25005 High-PoE injector; no power supply or wall bracket is included. Don’t order the wrong twin: a fixed 4 MP camera such as the ABUS IP Tube 2.8–12 mm (IPCB64521) when you only need one view.

What It Means in Practice
- 32x optical zoom from a 50.8° overview down to a 2.6° tele view lets one camera cover a whole yard and still zoom in on a gate or a number plate far away.
- Smart Tracking follows a detected person or vehicle automatically with pan, tilt and zoom, so the operator does not have to steer it live.
- 300 presets and 8 tours let you patrol fixed points (gates, loading bays, entrances) on a schedule.
- At night it switches to infrared and records in black and white up to about 200 m — invisible to passers-by.
- One High-PoE cable carries power, video and control — no separate mains outlet needed at the mounting point.
- Person/vehicle classification means far fewer false push alerts from trees, cats and rain than plain motion detection.
- With a microSD card it keeps recording locally if the recorder or network goes down.
What Will Not Work
- Wi-Fi: this is a wired network camera with no wireless connection.
- Colour at night: in darkness it switches to black-and-white infrared.
- Third-party recorders: ABUS does not list ONVIF support for this model, so plan an ABUS NVR, ABUS CMS or the Link Station app.
- Consumer cloud apps (Ring, Arlo, Google Home): it is a professional ABUS system camera, not a consumer cloud camera.
