ABUS SmartLook PPIC54520

4K / 8MPFixed view2.4 / 5 GHz Wi-FiIP66

The white ABUS SmartLook PPIC54520 is a powered outdoor camera for checking your entrance, driveway or garden from App2Cam Plus on an Android or iOS phone. Aim its fixed lens at the area you want to watch; its microphone captures audio when enabled. It records in 4K to the included microSD card, connects through 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi or Ethernet, and includes a power adapter. No camera subscription is required.

Before you order:
Plan a nearby mains outlet for the supplied 5 V adapter and suitable network coverage. Wi-Fi carries data; it does not remove the power cable. Use App2Cam Plus on Android/iOS for setup and operation. This is the fixed-view model; choose SmartLook Pan & Tilt if you need remote camera movement and intercom.

What's in the Box

  • 1 × ABUS SmartLook PPIC54520 camera
  • 1 × 5 V DC / 2 A power supply
  • Antenna, drill template, mounting material and reset tool
  • 8GB microSD card (pre-installed)
  • 1 × Allen key and pre-installed wall bracket

What It Means in Practice

  • For example, choose person notifications for an entrance, then review the saved event and up to five seconds before its trigger. Detection settings determine which alerts reach your phone.
  • A lower live-view quality can help on a slower remote connection; the manual states that saved recordings remain in 4K.
  • A fixed 85° horizontal view suits a defined entrance or path. Choose the mounting point before drilling.

What Will Not Work

  • Operation without the supplied external power source.
  • Integration with Secoris, Secvest or wAppLoxx is not supported.
  • Do not place the camera behind glass for IR night viewing: reflected infrared light can obscure the image.

Key Features

Relevant motion alerts
Distinguishes people, animals and vehicles. Adjust detection sensitivity and excluded image areas to suit the scene.

Night coverage
Infrared night vision reaches up to 10 m. Automatic day/night switching handles the change from colour daylight to infrared viewing.

Local recordings
The included microSD stores events locally; pre-recording adds up to five seconds of context. Circular overwrite helps keep new events recording.

Private areas stay masked
Three privacy zones can black out areas you do not want to capture. Audio recording can be disabled separately.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a monthly camera subscription?
No. ABUS provides the camera functions through the free App2Cam Plus app, with recordings on the included microSD card.
Why is remote live view less detailed than a saved clip?
Live-view quality can be reduced to suit the connection. The manual says this setting does not change the recording, which is saved in 4K.
Can I redirect the lens from my phone?
This model uses a fixed view. For app-controlled direction and intercom, consider the verified SmartLook Pan & Tilt model.
Singular Expert Insight
Choose this fixed camera for one defined area, such as a side path or entrance. Its 10 m IR reference is a more useful installation guide than assuming 4K alone guarantees detail at any distance. The white finish identifies this variant. Ask Singular to check mounting and network requirements before ordering. Check your camera installation with Singular
