Jabra Link 14201-36 — EHS Adapter for Alcatel 8 & 9 Series
Electronic hook switchAlcatel 8 / 9 seriesJabra wireless basesPart 14201-36
The Jabra Link 14201-36 is an electronic hook switch (EHS) adapter that connects a Jabra wireless office headset base to selected Alcatel desk phones of the 8 series (IP) and 9 series (UA), so calls can be answered and ended with the headset button, at the desk or away from it.
Unlike adapters that only carry the hook-switch signal, this Alcatel solution is the full connection between base and phone: on the base side it plugs into the AUX socket (red band, RJ45) and the phone socket (blue band, RJ10); on the phone side a Y-coupling goes into the Alcatel headset interface (3.5 mm) and the bell-marked socket (RJ12), leaving one socket free for an IP device.
Before you order: Alcatel 8 and 9 series only, used with a Jabra wireless headset base. The base must be set to adapter type MSH (set-up switch A). On phone software older than 9.xx, "Force headset" must be switched off and the headset activated in the phone menu.
What's in the Box
- Jabra Link 14201-36 Alcatel EHS adapter cable set
- Headset and base are not included
What It Means in Practice
- The headset button picks up and hangs up Alcatel calls, so a user walking around the office does not miss calls.
- Set-up per Jabra: base adapter type MSH, switch A; with Alcatel software 9.xx or later no phone settings are needed.
- Jabra lists Alcatel IP Touch 4028/4038/4068 and 4029/4039 among the supported phones.
- Supported Jabra bases include PRO 92x, PRO 9450/9460/9470, GO 6470 and Engage 65/65 SE/75.
- Only some Alcatel ringtones are passed to the headset (Standard, Classic, Cold River, Dooing-Dooing) — choose one of those if you want to hear the ring in the headset.
What Will Not Work
- Alcatel phones outside the 8 and 9 series, or other brands — they need a different Jabra Link or a DHSG cable.
- Corded or USB headsets — this adapter is for Jabra wireless headset bases.
- Ringtones outside the four listed above — the call still works, but the ring is not heard in the headset.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
On Alcatel 8/9 series desks this is the adapter that makes a Jabra wireless headset fully hands-free, including answering from the corridor. Most problems after installation are settings: MSH on the base and the right ringtone on the phone. You can find matching headsets in our
Office & VoIP headsets range.
✓ Buy it if you run Alcatel 8 or 9 series desk phones with Jabra wireless headsets and want remote call answering.
✕ Skip it if your phones are another brand or Alcatel series, or your headsets are corded or USB.
→ Also consider Jabra Link 14201-17 for Polycom, or Jabra Link 14201-10 (DHSG) for Siemens/Unify and other DHSG phones.
