Alcatel F860 — DECT phone with a large display and call blocking
DECT cordlessHandsfreeCall block 100 numbersLarge backlit display
The Alcatel F860 is a mid-range DECT cordless phone with a large, blue-backlit display, a 100-contact phonebook and a call-block system that can stop up to 100 numbers or let only your contacts ring. It is the version without answering machine — choose it if you use your operator voicemail or do not need recorded messages.
It connects to an analogue telephone line: a classic copper line or the analogue phone port (Phone, TEL or FXS) of your fibre or VDSL router. The handset works up to about 50 m indoors from the base and up to 300 m in open space.
Before you order: Needs an analogue line or the analogue phone port of your router; it is not an IP/SIP phone. This is a continental-European edition — its mains adapter may need a plug adapter for the UK-style (BS 1363) sockets used in Cyprus. Caller name and number display depends on the Caller ID service of your line.
What's in the Box
- Alcatel F860 handset (black)
- Base and mains power adapter
- Removable telephone line cord (RJ11)
- 2 × AAA NiMH 300 mAh rechargeable batteries per handset
What It Means in Practice
- The display combines a dot-matrix text line with a large seven-segment number line and a blue backlight, so caller names and numbers are easy to read.
- Call blocking works in two ways: press the block key to add a number (up to 100), or switch to automatic mode so that only numbers in your phonebook or VIP list ring. Anonymous calls can be blocked too.
- 100 contacts are shared between handsets; M1 and M2 are direct memory keys and keys 1–3 work as extra one-touch memories with a long press.
- Handsfree with 5 volume levels, 10 ringtones and a VIP ringtone for important callers (operator-dependent).
- ECO mode charges the battery only when needed and lowers the transmit power depending on the distance from the base.
What Will Not Work
- It will not connect to Ethernet, Wi-Fi or a VoIP/SIP account.
- It does not work during a power cut — the base needs mains power.
- There is no answering machine; for recorded messages choose the F860 Voice.
- The box has one handset — a second room needs the Duo pack or an extra handset.
- No Bluetooth, mobile-phone link or headset jack.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it work on my fibre line?
Yes, if your router has an analogue phone port (Phone/TEL/FXS) activated for voice by your provider — connect the base there instead of the wall socket.
Can I let only my contacts ring?
Yes. In automatic call-block mode only numbers stored in the phonebook or marked VIP ring; others are blocked.
Can I add more handsets?
Yes, up to 4 handsets per base, sharing the phonebook and call log.

If you need recorded messages, the F860 Voice is the same phone with an answering machine. Moving to IP telephony? Browse our
