The Alcatel F890 Voice is the top cordless phone in the Alcatel home range: one black handset with a 1.8-inch six-line display, a base with a built-in answering machine of about 50 minutes, and Premium Call Block that can screen or stop up to 1000 numbers. It suits a home, a small office or a reception desk where nuisance calls and missed messages are a daily problem.
It works on an analogue telephone line — a classic copper line or the analogue phone port of your fibre or VDSL router. This is the French-market (FR) edition of the F890 Voice: its line cord and power supply are the French versions, so in Cyprus you may need a standard RJ11 line cord to the wall socket or router and a plug adapter for the mains supply.
Before you order: Needs an analogue line or your router’s analogue phone port; it is not an IP/SIP phone. This is the French edition — the manufacturer does not publish the menu languages for it, so if you need an English menu ask us to confirm before ordering. Cyprus BS 1363 sockets need a plug adapter for the European power supply.

What It Means in Practice
- The 1.8-inch display shows six lines of text with a white backlight, so names, numbers and menu items are easy to read without glasses.
- Each contact can hold three numbers (home, mobile, work) — 200 contacts in total, shared between all handsets on the base.
- Premium Call Block lets you choose how unknown callers are treated: ask them to announce their name before the phone rings, send them straight to the answering machine, or block anonymous, international and unknown numbers. Night mode silences everything except your VIP contacts.
- The answering machine records about 50 minutes of messages; a LED on the base shows new messages and you can listen remotely when you are away.
- A full call log of 50 incoming and 30 outgoing calls makes it easy to call back a customer or check who rang.
What Will Not Work
- It will not connect to Ethernet, Wi-Fi or a VoIP/SIP account.
- It does not work during a power cut, because the base needs mains power.
- Caller name and number appear only if Caller ID is active on your line; the call-blocking modes that rely on recognising numbers depend on it too.
- The single pack has one handset — the F890 Voice Duo pack or an extra handset is needed for a second room.
- There is no Bluetooth or mobile-phone link.
