Alienware 27 AW2726DM — QD-OLED QHD gaming at 240Hz
27" class QD-OLEDQHD 240Hz0.03ms GtG3-year warranty
The Alienware 27 AW2726DM is a 27-inch class (26.5" viewable) QD-OLED gaming monitor with QHD 2560 x 1440 resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms GtG response, bringing OLED contrast and speed to a mainstream QHD setup.
Every pixel on a QD-OLED panel produces its own light, so blacks are truly black and contrast is effectively unlimited (Dell quotes 1,500,000:1 dynamic). Colour covers 99% of DCI-P3 in 10-bit, and the near-instant pixel response makes fast motion look sharper than any LCD at the same refresh rate. AMD FreeSync Premium and VESA AdaptiveSync handle variable refresh, and the stand adjusts in height, tilt, swivel and pivot.
Before you order: 240Hz is available over DisplayPort 1.4; the HDMI inputs run at up to 120Hz, which suits consoles. Typical SDR brightness is 200 cd/m², lower than most LCDs — OLED is at its best in controlled room lighting.

What It Means in Practice
- For 240Hz use the supplied DisplayPort cable from a PC; PS5 and Xbox Series connect over HDMI at up to 120Hz.
- QD-OLED shows perfect blacks and very fast motion — ideal for dark games, films and competitive play.
- Leave the monitor's built-in panel-care routines enabled; they help protect against image retention over time.
- The full stand (130mm height, swivel, pivot) means no arm is needed.
What Will Not Work
- No built-in speakers and no USB ports.
- No USB-C input — USB-C laptops need a USB-C to DisplayPort cable for 240Hz.
- HDMI does not reach 240Hz — it is limited to 120Hz.
- Not ideal for very bright rooms or for static work with fixed toolbars for many hours a day.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it reach 240Hz over HDMI?
No. Dell specifies 240Hz over DisplayPort 1.4; HDMI is limited to 120Hz.
What about OLED burn-in?
Dell's fact sheet states that the three-year warranty includes OLED burn-in protection. Keeping the panel-care features on helps over the long term.
Is it bright enough for daytime use?
Typical SDR brightness is 200 cd/m², which is fine indoors but lower than most LCDs; very bright rooms favour an IPS monitor.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The AW2726DM is one of the most accessible ways into OLED gaming: QHD keeps frame rates high on mid- to upper-range graphics cards, while 240Hz and 0.03ms response deliver motion clarity no LCD can match. The trade-offs are modest SDR brightness and no USB hub. To drive QHD at 240Hz, check our
graphics cards.
✓ Buy it if you want OLED contrast and speed at QHD 240Hz with a full ergonomic stand.
✕ Skip it if you work in a very bright room, need USB ports or speakers, or keep static content on screen all day.
→ Also consider a 27" IPS 240Hz QHD monitor if brightness matters more than contrast.
