The APC Smart-UPS X 3000VA is a 3000 VA / 2700 W line-interactive UPS in a rack/tower 2u housing with 8x IEC C13 + 1x IEC C19, sized for server racks, storage arrays and other critical IT loads.
It bridges short power cuts and protects against surges, regulates voltage with AVR and is managed through its pre-installed network card.
Before you order, check three things: the real wattage of your equipment, the plug types on your devices and your wall socket, and whether you need automatic shutdown. Each is covered below.
Before you order: The input is an IEC C20 inlet. Use a C19 power cord rated for the load and make sure the wall circuit can supply the full rating; the outlets are IEC C13/C19, so devices need IEC power cords.

What It Means in Practice
- Size it on watts, not VA: keep the connected load comfortably below 2700 W (around 1890 W or less leaves useful headroom and runtime).
- The manufacturer publishes runtime only as a curve, not as fixed figures. Tell us your load in watts and we will read the runtime for you.
- Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) corrects low and high mains voltage without using the battery, so short sags and swells do not drain it.
- The pre-installed Network Management Card 3 adds web/SNMP monitoring, alerts and network shutdown for several servers.
- Runtime can be extended with external battery packs: SMX120RMBP2U (up to 10 packs).
- Replacement battery: APCRBC117 (user-replaceable).
What Will Not Work
- Laser printers, heaters, kettles and other high-inrush or heating loads do not belong on the battery outlets - they overload the UPS.
- Wall-type plugs (UK or Schuko) do not fit the IEC outlets without C14 cords or adapters.
