Apple EarPods with Lightning Connector — wired earphones for Lightning iPhone and iPad
Lightning connectorRemote + microphonePlug and playWhite
Apple EarPods with Lightning Connector (MMTN2ZM/A) are wired earphones with a built-in remote and microphone that plug straight into the Lightning port of an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch — the simple, no-charging option for calls and music.
The EarPods shape follows the geometry of the ear, so they fit more people comfortably than round earbuds, and the speakers are designed to minimise sound loss for fuller bass. The remote on the cable adjusts volume, controls music and video playback and answers or ends calls. There is nothing to pair and nothing to charge: plug in and they work.
Before you order: Lightning only. iPhone 15 and later and USB-C iPads use USB-C, so they need the EarPods (USB-C) instead. Apple also sells EarPods with a 3.5 mm plug — make sure you order the connector your device has.

What It Means in Practice
- Ideal as a spare or office pair: no battery, no Bluetooth pairing, no charging case to forget.

What Will Not Work
- iPhone 15, 16 and later (USB-C) — use EarPods (USB-C).
- USB-C iPads (iPad Air 4th gen and later, iPad Pro 2018 and later, iPad mini 6th gen and later, iPad 10th gen and later).
- Mac, Windows PCs and Android phones — they have no Lightning port.
