Apple AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation (MXP93LL/A) are open-fit true wireless earbuds with Apple's H2 chip, ANC and Transparency mode, made for iPhone, iPad and Mac users who want noise control without in-ear silicone tips.
The design keeps the classic AirPods shape: the earbud rests in the outer ear rather than sealing the canal. On top of that Apple adds Active Noise Cancellation, Adaptive Audio, Conversation Awareness and Voice Isolation for calls. The charging case is smaller than before, charges over USB-C, Apple Watch charger or any Qi-certified pad, and has a built-in speaker so Find My can locate it. MXP93LL/A is the US-market part number of the ANC model; the hardware is the same AirPods 4 with ANC.
Before you order: This is the ANC model. The cheaper AirPods 4 without ANC (MXP63) look almost identical but have no noise cancellation, no wireless charging and no case speaker — check the part number before you order. No USB-C cable or power adapter is included.

What It Means in Practice
- Open fit means no ear tips to choose and no plugged-ear feeling; ANC reduces steady background noise (bus, air conditioning, office hum) but cannot isolate as deeply as sealed in-ear earbuds.
- With ANC on you get up to 4 hours per charge and up to 20 hours with the case; with noise control off up to 5 hours and 30 hours with the case. Five minutes in the case gives about one hour of listening.
- On an iPhone the earbuds pair with one tap and switch automatically between your Apple devices signed in to the same Apple Account.
- Calls use dual beamforming microphones and Voice Isolation, which keeps your voice clear in a noisy street or café.
- The case speaker plays a sound when you search for it with Find My — useful when the case slips into a sofa or bag.
What Will Not Work
- There is no wired listening: no 3.5 mm jack and no audio over USB-C — it is Bluetooth only.
- On Android phones and Windows PCs they work as standard Bluetooth earbuds; ANC settings, automatic switching, Spatial Audio personalisation, Siri and Find My need Apple devices.
- They are not sealed in-ear earbuds: if you need maximum isolation for flights or a strong bass seal, an in-ear model with tips is the better choice.
- IP54 means sweat and splash resistance for non-water sports — not swimming or showering.
- No hearing-health or heart-rate features; those belong to Apple's Pro models.
