The iPhone 17e (2026) is Apple’s accessible flagship, bringing the A19 chip, a 48MP 2-in-1 Fusion camera, Face ID, Action button, MagSafe, and 256GB of base storage to a price-conscious entry point. It starts where the previous iPhone SE line ended, but with a significantly more capable design: a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, Ceramic Shield 2, and up to 26 hours of video playback. Apple A19 Chip
The A19 is built on 3nm technology with a 6-core CPU (2 performance + 4 efficiency cores), a 4-core GPU with Neural Accelerators, hardware-accelerated ray tracing, and a 16-core Neural Engine. It delivers the processing power required for demanding AAA gaming, 4K video workflows, and on-device Apple Intelligence tasks.
6.1" Super Retina XDR OLED Display
The all-screen 6.1-inch OLED display delivers 2532×1170 resolution at 460 ppi, with a 2,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 800 nits typical brightness, and 1200 nits peak HDR brightness. True Tone, P3 wide colour, Haptic Touch, and an antireflective oleophobic coating are all included. The Ceramic Shield 2 front glass provides 3× better scratch resistance than the previous generation.
48MP Fusion Camera System
The rear 48MP Fusion camera (26mm, f/1.6, OIS, Hybrid Focus Pixels) doubles as a 12MP 2x Telephoto (52mm, f/1.6, OIS) — two focal lengths from one sensor. Features include Photonic Engine, Deep Fusion, Smart HDR 5, next-generation portraits with post-capture focus and blur adjustment, Night mode, Photographic Styles, and 4K Dolby Vision video at up to 60fps. Front camera: 12MP TrueDepth (f/1.9) with autofocus, Night mode, and 4K Dolby Vision video.
Action Button, Face ID & MagSafe
The Action button is customisable to a user-chosen function: Silent Mode, Focus, Camera, Visual Intelligence, Flashlight, Voice Memo, Recognize Music, Translate, Magnifier, Controls, Shortcut, or Accessibility. Face ID via TrueDepth camera provides secure facial authentication. MagSafe supports wireless charging up to 15W, Qi2 at 15W, and a full ecosystem of magnetic accessories.
