ARCTIC BioniX P12 A-RGB — 120 mm PWM Fan with Daisy Chain

120 mm · single fan450-3000 rpm · PWM6.7 mm H²O static pressure16 A-RGB LEDs per fan

The ARCTIC BioniX P12 A-RGB (ACFAN00335A) is a 120 mm pressure-optimised PWM case fan with 16 addressable RGB LEDs and a fluid dynamic bearing, supplied as a single fan, and it is built around ARCTIC’s bridge daisy-chain system: a thin card links fan to fan and carries both the PWM power and the A-RGB signal, so an array of fans reaches the motherboard on one cable run instead of six. It runs from 450-3000 rpm, moves 76 CFM (129 m³/h) and develops 6.7 mm H²O of static pressure, with the fan stopping entirely below 5% PWM duty. ARCTIC is a German manufacturer and publishes a six-year warranty across its range. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.

Compatibility — check before buying:
⚠ You need a 3-pin 5V addressable (A-RGB) header on your motherboard. A 4-pin 12V RGB header is not compatible — the plugs can be forced together and doing so destroys the LEDs. No controller or hub is included in this pack, so a board without an A-RGB header needs an ARGB controller bought separately. Mind the header budget too: ARCTIC states no more than 3 fans on a 2 A A-RGB header and 5 on a 3 A header, and for PWM no more than 3 fans on a 1 A header, 6 on 2 A and 9 on 3 A. This fan uses a plain 4-pin PWM connector — it does not have ARCTIC PST; daisy-chaining is done with the bridge modules instead. Depth is 26 mm, not the usual 25 mm — check clearance in slim cases and against RAM. Radiator screws are not included; use the ones supplied with your AIO.

Best For

✓ Radiators and restricted intakes where static pressure matters
✓ AIO liquid coolers
✓ Front intakes behind a dust filter or mesh panel
✓ Builds with several fans that need tidy cabling
✓ Adding or replacing a single fan in an existing array
✓ Systems with a motherboard A-RGB header and lighting software

Key Features

Bridge daisy chain — one cable for power and lighting
ARCTIC replaced both the PST splitter and the ARGB daisy-chain cable with a bridge module: a thin card that clips between adjacent fans and carries PWM power and the A-RGB signal together. Bridge modules are included; the Bridge Cable that links arrays across a case at a distance ships only with the three-packs.

Pressure-optimised 120 mm blade design
6.7 mm H²O of static pressure with 76 CFM (129 m³/h) of airflow. The P-series geometry is built to push air through resistance — radiator fins, dust filters, mesh front panels — rather than to move the most air in free space.

Fluid dynamic bearing and SOTA microcontroller
ARCTIC pairs a fluid dynamic bearing with an extended shaft, which it says optimises pressure distribution for quiet, vibration-free running, with a SOTA microcontroller that reduces motor noise, balances load fluctuations and protects against inrush current and reverse polarity.

16 addressable LEDs and a true 0 dB stop
Sixteen A-RGB LEDs per fan light translucent detailing and edge slits in the frame, driven from a standard 3-pin 5 V header. Below 5% PWM duty the fan stops completely, so an idle system is silent.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will these fans work with my motherboard’s RGB header?
Only with a 3-pin 5 V addressable header, usually labelled A-RGB, ADD-RGB or ARGB. The older 4-pin 12 V RGB header is a different standard and is not compatible — connecting the fan to one will destroy the LEDs. If your board has neither, you need a separate ARGB controller, as none is included here.
Do these have ARCTIC PST?
No. ARCTIC’s own specification lists a plain 4-pin PWM connector with no pass-through socket. Daisy-chaining is handled by the new bridge modules, which carry both the fan power and the A-RGB signal between adjacent fans — a single system replacing both the old PST splitter and the ARGB chain cable.
What is the difference between the BioniX P12 and P14 A-RGB?
Size and character. The P12 is 120 mm, spins 450–3000 rpm and develops more static pressure at 6.7 mm H²O with 76 CFM. The P14 is 140 mm, spins 400–2500 rpm and moves considerably more air at 110 CFM with 5.4 mm H²O. The P12 suits dense radiators and tight intakes; the P14 moves more air for less noise where a 140 mm mount exists. Their cables and bridge modules are interchangeable.
What do I need to know before buying the ACFAN00335A?
Four things. It needs a 3-pin 5 V A-RGB header and no controller is included. It is 26 mm deep rather than the usual 25 mm, so check clearance. Radiator screws are not supplied. And ARCTIC publishes no noise figure, MTBF or cable length for this fan — we have marked all three as unpublished rather than borrowing numbers from a different model.
Singular Expert Insight
Two things about this range are easy to get wrong, and both change what you should buy. The first is that ARCTIC PST is gone. Every previous generation of ARCTIC fan chained through a 4-pin pass-through socket, and virtually every listing still says PST out of habit. These use a bridge module instead — a card that clips between neighbouring fans and carries the PWM power and the A-RGB signal in one, which is genuinely tidier but means the fans have to sit adjacent to chain. The Bridge Cable that links two separate arrays across a case ships only with the three-packs, so a build with a front trio and a top pair is best served by a three-pack plus singles rather than five singles. The second is the header budget: ARCTIC’s own limit is three fans on a 2 A A-RGB header, and a three-pack is exactly at that limit — a second trio needs a second header or a powered hub. On the fans themselves, P-series means pressure-optimised, so they earn their keep on radiators, behind dust filters and through mesh front panels rather than blowing into open air. At 120 mm the P12 is the pressure half of the pair: 6.7 mm H²O against the P14’s 5.4, and a 3000 rpm ceiling against 2500, at the cost of airflow (76 CFM against 110). That makes it the one to fit to a dense radiator or a filtered intake, while a 140 mm mount is better served by the P14. Worth stating plainly: ARCTIC publishes no noise level, no MTBF and no cable length for this series, so any dB(A) figure you see in a listing has been borrowed from a different fan. If you are planning the rest of the cooling, our CPU coolers and power supplies pages cover the parts that sit alongside these.

Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

You want 120 mm pressure-optimised PWM fans with addressable lighting for a radiator, a filtered intake or a mesh front panel, your motherboard has a 3-pin 5 V A-RGB header, and the bridge daisy chain will save you a nest of cables.

Skip it if

Your motherboard only has a 4-pin 12 V RGB header and you do not want to buy an ARGB controller — these will not work with it. Skip them too if you need a published noise figure before buying, if your case is too tight for a 26 mm fan, or if you were counting on PST pass-through, which this series does not have.

Also consider

ARCTIC BioniX P12 A-RGB 3-Pack if you are filling a whole array — it is the only pack that includes the Bridge Cable; the white version of this same fan; the BioniX P14 A-RGB where a 140 mm mount exists; or the ARCTIC Fan Controller if you are running more fans than your motherboard headers can drive.
