ASUS ZenDrive U7M Ultra-Slim External DVD Writer
USB 2.0 Plug & Play8X DVD BurnM-DISC ArchivalOnly 13.9 mm Thin
The ASUS ZenDrive U7M (SDRW-08U7M-U, part number 90DD01X0-M29000) is an ultra-slim external DVD writer that connects over USB 2.0 and burns CDs and DVDs at up to 8X. Finished in black with a Zen-inspired concentric-circle hairline pattern, it is only 13.9 mm thick and runs entirely on USB power, so there is no adapter to carry. It is an easy way to add disc reading and writing to a laptop or mini PC that has no built-in optical drive. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Before you buy
The drive is bus-powered over its USB 2.0 (Type-A) cable — no wall adapter required. Most laptops power it from one port. For USB-C-only machines you will need a USB-C to USB-A adapter or hub.

Singular Expert Insight
The U7M is the classic USB 2.0 ZenDrive — slim, understated and simple, ideal if your laptop still has a USB-A port and you just need reliable disc reading, burning and the odd M-DISC archive. If your machine is USB-C-first, the ZenDrive U8M is the natural upgrade with a native USB-C connector. Browse our external optical writers for Blu-ray options.
Buyer's Guide
Buy it if
You want a slim, affordable USB-A drive to read and burn CDs/DVDs on a laptop or mini PC, with M-DISC archival support and no power adapter.
Skip it if
Your laptop is USB-C only (choose the ZenDrive U8M) or you need Blu-ray — this is a USB 2.0 DVD/CD drive.
Also consider
The ZenDrive U8M for native USB-C, the U9M for both cables, or an external Blu-ray writer for high-capacity archiving.
