ASUS TUF Gaming VG249QM5F — 23.8" Full HD Fast IPS at 260Hz
260Hz (OC) via DisplayPortFast IPS · 99% sRGBG-SYNC Compatible · FreeSync Premium2x HDMI 2.1 · DP 1.4
The ASUS TUF Gaming VG249QM5F is a 23.8-inch Full HD Fast IPS gaming monitor that overclocks to 260Hz with a 0.3ms minimum response time, built for competitive players who want the highest frame rates at 1080p without paying for a 1440p panel.
At 1920 x 1080 a mid-range graphics card can actually reach 200+ fps in esports titles, which is where a 260Hz panel pays off. The Fast IPS panel keeps 99% sRGB colour and wide viewing angles, so the same screen works for everyday desktop use and video between matches.
Before you order: The full 260Hz is reached over DisplayPort only. HDMI tops out at 255Hz and ASUS states its HDMI 2.1 (TMDS) carries the same bandwidth as HDMI 2.0. A DisplayPort cable is included; an HDMI cable is not.
What's in the Box
- ASUS TUF Gaming VG249QM5F monitor with tilt stand
- DisplayPort cable
- Power cord
- L-shaped screwdriver
- Quick start guide and warranty card
- No HDMI cable is included — order one separately if your source has no DisplayPort
What It Means in Practice
- Connect a gaming PC by DisplayPort to get the full 260Hz; HDMI still gives up to 255Hz for a second PC or console
- G-SYNC Compatible and FreeSync Premium remove tearing on both NVIDIA and AMD graphics cards
- ELMB Sync combines motion-blur reduction with variable refresh, useful in fast shooters
- Built-in 2W x 2 speakers cover system sounds and casual use; serious gaming audio needs a headset on the 3.5mm jack
- At 23.8 inches and 1080p the pixel density is about 93 PPI — sharp at a normal desk distance, ideal for esports
What Will Not Work
- The stand tilts only (+20° / -5°): no height, swivel or pivot adjustment — use a VESA 100 x 100 arm if you need height
- No USB-C input and no USB hub: a laptop without HDMI or DisplayPort needs an adapter
- HDMI does not reach the 260Hz maximum, and there is no HDMI FRL — PS5 and Xbox Series run at their own console limits, not 260Hz
- Not a true HDR display: HDR10 signal support without DisplayHDR certification and 300 nits brightness

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The VG249QM5F is a focused esports screen: a 24-inch class Full HD panel is still the easiest way to hold very high frame rates, and Fast IPS avoids the washed-out colours of older TN gaming monitors. The two things to plan for are the DisplayPort-only 260Hz and the tilt-only stand. Browse our PC monitor range for larger or higher-resolution options.
✓ Buy it if you play competitive shooters at 1080p on a PC that can push 200+ fps and want IPS colour.
✕ Skip it if you want a sharper 1440p image for single-player games, or need a height-adjustable stand out of the box.
→ Also consider the 27" TUF Gaming VG279QM5F with the same 260Hz spec, or the TUF Gaming VG27AQ5F for 1440p.
Not sure which input your PC, laptop or console needs? Tell us the model of your graphics card or device and we will confirm the right cable and refresh rate before you order.
