ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Edition 20 — quad-band Wi-Fi 7 gaming router, 20th anniversary design
Wi-Fi 7 · BE25000Quad-band 2.4/5/5/6 GHz2x 10G · 4x 2.5GROG 20th Anniversary
The ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Edition 20 is a quad-band Wi-Fi 7 gaming router with a combined BE25000 rating, two 10 Gigabit ports and four 2.5 Gigabit ports, made for gamers, creators and power users with multi-gig internet and many demanding devices.
It is the limited ROG 20th anniversary version of the GT-BE98: the hardware is the same, with a gold-on-black finish, a golden antenna base, an aluminium anniversary badge and an exclusive web-interface theme. One 2.4GHz band, two 5GHz bands and a 6GHz band with 320MHz channels spread devices across four radios.
Before you order: Wi-Fi 7 speeds on 6GHz and 320MHz channels need Wi-Fi 7 client devices. Phones and laptops with Wi-Fi 6/6E still connect, at their own maximum speed.
What's in the Box
- ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Edition 20 router
- Power adapter
- RJ-45 network cable
- Quick start guide and warranty card
What It Means in Practice
- Four bands let you keep gaming PCs and consoles on their own 5GHz or 6GHz band while phones and smart devices use the others.
- The 10G WAN/LAN port is ready for multi-gig fibre; the second 10G port can connect a NAS or a 10G PC at full speed.
- Two 10G ports can be aggregated to 20Gbps for a fast link to a switch or NAS.
- AiMesh lets you add other ASUS routers later to cover a larger home or office.
What Will Not Work
- WPA/WPA2/WPA3 Enterprise works only on a single router, not in AiMesh mode (ASUS note).
- Older devices do not gain Wi-Fi 7 speed — the router cannot upgrade the client side.
- It is a large unit (35 x 35 x 22 cm) and needs open shelf or desk space for the eight antennas.
- It does not include a built-in 4G/5G modem; mobile internet is only possible by USB tethering.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The GT-BE98 Edition 20 is for buyers who want the top ROG router hardware and like the collector design: four radios, two 10G ports and a full gaming feature set. For most homes on 1Gbps internet a smaller Wi-Fi 7 router covers the basics; this model pays off with multi-gig internet, a 10G NAS or many heavy users. Compare other
routers.
✓ Buy it if you have multi-gig internet or 10G devices and want maximum Wi-Fi 7 capacity with ROG gaming features.
✕ Skip it if your internet is 1Gbps or less and you have only a few Wi-Fi 7 devices.
→ Also consider the standard GT-BE98 if you do not need the anniversary design, or an ASUS AiMesh system for wide coverage.
