FRITZ!Box 6850 5G — 5G Internet with Wi-Fi Mesh, Gigabit LAN and DECT Telephony
5G + 4G LTE-A ProUp to 1.3 Gbit/sWi-Fi 5 MeshDECT base · 4x GbE
The FRITZ!Box 6850 5G is a mobile broadband router that connects to the internet over 5G or 4G with a SIM card, reaching up to 1.3 Gbit/s download and 600 Mbit/s upload, for homes, small offices and sites without fixed-line broadband or as a fast backup line. It shares the connection over dual-band Wi-Fi 5 with FRITZ! Mesh and four Gigabit LAN ports.
It is also a phone system: a DECT base for up to six handsets, VoLTE/VoNR and IP telephony, an analogue phone port and five answering machines. External SMA mobile antennas are included, and a USB 3.0 port shares a drive or printer on the network.
Before you order: It needs a mini-SIM from a mobile operator with a data plan; 5G works only where your operator provides 5G on the supported bands. FRITZ! does not publish the plug type for this item number — ask us before ordering.

- Quick guide
What It Means in Practice
- Put the SIM in, plug in power, and the whole home or office has internet — no fixed line or technician visit.
- Wi-Fi 5 at up to 866 Mbit/s on 5 GHz covers a typical apartment; add FRITZ! Mesh repeaters for larger spaces.
- Four Gigabit ports wire up a PC, NAS, TV box or switch.
- Connect DECT cordless phones directly and make calls over VoLTE/VoNR.
What Will Not Work
- It does not take a nano-SIM directly — use a mini-SIM or an adapter.
- It has no DSL or cable modem; it is for mobile internet only (or as a mesh/LAN router).
- Wi-Fi 6 is not supported — this is a Wi-Fi 5 router; see the FRITZ!Box 6860 5G for Wi-Fi 6.
- It is not weatherproof — for outdoor or window mounting, the 6860 5G is IP54 rated.
