The FRITZ!Box 6860 5G is a compact 5G router in an IP54 housing that can be mounted indoors, at a window or in protected outdoor areas where the mobile signal is strongest, for homes, holiday properties and small businesses that rely on mobile broadband. It reaches up to 1.3 Gbit/s download over 5G with four internal antennas in 4x4 MIMO, and shares the connection over Wi-Fi 6 at up to 3 Gbit/s with FRITZ! Mesh.
A single PoE+ cable carries both power and data from the supplied PoE+ adapter, which provides one Gigabit LAN port indoors. It also acts as a DECT base for six handsets and DECT ULE smart-home devices, with VoLTE/VoNR, IP telephony, five answering machines and fax.
Before you order: It takes a nano-SIM. The PoE+ adapter has one Gigabit LAN port; for more wired devices add a switch. FRITZ! does not publish the plug type for this item number — ask us before ordering.

- Mount it on a window or a sheltered outside wall facing the mast and run one slim cable indoors — signal improves without extra antennas.
- Wi-Fi 6 up to 2400 Mbit/s on 5 GHz covers the area around the unit; add FRITZ! Mesh repeaters indoors for full coverage.
- Plug a switch into the PoE+ adapter's LAN port to wire several devices.
- Operating range -10 to 40 °C suits sheltered outdoor locations in most climates.
What Will Not Work
- It is rated for protected outdoor areas, not exposed rooftops with direct rain and full sun all year.
- It does not take a mini-SIM directly — nano-SIM only.
- There is only one wired LAN port (on the PoE+ adapter), no USB port is listed, and no analogue phone port.
- It has no DSL or cable modem.
