The AXIS A9801 Security Relay (part number 5801-141) protects the door-lock connection of an AXIS network intercom. It is installed on the secure side of the door, between the intercom and the electric strike. If someone tampers with the intercom outside, the relay cuts the connection to the door strike, so the door stays locked instead of opening. The small plastic unit measures 48 × 45 × 30 mm, weighs 100 g and fits standard installation boxes. It takes 11–13 V input, switches up to 30 V DC at 1.2 A, and can also supply 12 V or 24 V to the lock. In practice it closes the most common weak point of an outdoor door station.

Compatibility — check before buying:
For AXIS network intercoms only. AXIS lists the A8207-VE Mk II, I7010-VE (and Safety version), I7020, I8016-LVE, I8116-E and I8307-VE, plus the discontinued A8004-VE and A8105-E. It is not a general-purpose relay module. The wires between intercom and relay may be at most 15 m long, so plan the relay inside the building close to the door.
