Compatibility — check before buying:
Two things to match against what you are plugging in. Power: 60 W covers phones, tablets and most 13 to 14-inch laptops, but a larger laptop that wants 100 W or 140 W will charge more slowly with this cable in the way — the cable, not the charger, becomes the limit. If you have a 100 W charger and a hungry laptop, use a 100 W-rated cable. Data: this is USB 2.0 at 480 Mbps, so it is fine for syncing a phone and far too slow for an external SSD or for driving a display over USB-C.
