Belkin Connect Thunderbolt 4 Cable — 2 m Active, 40Gbps, 100W

Thunderbolt 4 certifiedActive cable at 2 m40 Gbps100W Power DeliveryUSB4 compliant

The Belkin INZ002 is a 2 metre active Thunderbolt 4 cable. The word active matters: passive Thunderbolt 4 cables are limited to short lengths, so any 2 m cable that holds the full 40 Gbps has to carry electronics inside it. Belkin puts “Active” in the product name for exactly that reason.

It carries data, power and video on one cable — up to 40 Gbps, up to 100 W of Power Delivery, and enough display bandwidth for two 4K displays or one 8K display. It is Thunderbolt 4 certified and USB4 compliant, with an E-Mark IC in the connector.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Works with Thunderbolt 4, Thunderbolt 3, USB4, USB 3.2, USB 2.0 and plain USB-C, with reversible connectors at both ends. Belkin’s stated system requirements are Windows 10 RS3 or later and macOS Big Sur 11 or later, with Thunderbolt-enabled laptops from 2019 onwards recommended. Two things Belkin does not claim, so neither do we: it does not mention Thunderbolt Networking or daisy-chaining anywhere in its product page, FAQ or support article, and it does not publish refresh rates for the dual-4K figure — so we are not going to write “dual 4K at 60 Hz” as though it were a specification.

Best For

✓Reaching a dock or display that is further away than a short cable allows, without losing bandwidth
✓Docking stations, external SSDs and Thunderbolt displays that need the full 40 Gbps
✓Desks where one cable should carry the display, the data and the laptop charging

Key Features

Active at 2 metres, full 40 Gbps
Passive Thunderbolt 4 cables cannot hold 40 Gbps over this distance. This one carries active electronics so the full bandwidth survives the length.

Data, power and video simultaneously
40 Gbps of data, up to 100 W of charging and two 4K displays or one 8K, all down the same cable at the same time.

Thunderbolt 4 certified and USB4 compliant
Both, with an E-Mark IC in the connector. It also falls back correctly to Thunderbolt 3, USB4, USB 3.2 and USB 2.0.

Reversible connectors, either end
USB-C at both ends, both reversible. There is no wrong way round and no host end to remember.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does a 2 m Thunderbolt cable need to be active?
Passive Thunderbolt 4 cables cannot sustain 40 Gbps over long distances. Beyond a short run the cable needs active electronics to keep the signal intact, which is why Belkin sells the 1 m as passive and this 2 m as active.
Does it charge a laptop?
Yes, up to 100 W. Note that this is Power Delivery 3.0 with a 5 A maximum — it does not support the 240 W EPR standard, so a 240 W laptop will charge more slowly than with its own cable.
How many displays can it drive?
Belkin states two displays at 4K or one at 8K. It does not publish refresh rates for the dual-4K figure, so treat “dual 4K 60 Hz” claims elsewhere as assumptions rather than specifications.
Does it support Thunderbolt Networking or daisy-chaining?
Belkin does not mention either, in its product page, its FAQ or its support article. Some distributors add those claims; we are not repeating them without a source.
What lengths does Belkin make?
Two: a 1 m passive cable (INZ003BT1MBK) and this 2 m active one. There is no 0.8 m Belkin Thunderbolt 4 cable, despite that being a common length elsewhere.
Should I wait for a Thunderbolt 5 cable instead?
Belkin sells one, but only at 1 m. If you need 2 m, this is still the cable, and Belkin has not marked it end of life.
Singular Expert Insight
Two honest points. The 100 W ceiling is real — this is Power Delivery 3.0 with a 5 A limit, so if your laptop wants 140 W or 240 W it will charge, just slower. And Belkin never publishes refresh rates for the dual-4K claim, nor mentions Thunderbolt Networking or daisy-chaining anywhere. Those appear on distributor pages, not on Belkin’s, and we have left them off rather than repeat them.

Buyer's Guide

Buy it if

Buy this if you need a full-bandwidth Thunderbolt 4 cable that reaches 2 metres without dropping to a slower mode.

Skip it if

Skip it if you need 240 W EPR charging, if 1 m would do (the passive INZ003 is cheaper), or if you specifically need Thunderbolt 5 speeds.

Also consider

Also worth a look: the Belkin 1 m passive Thunderbolt 4 cable, Belkin Thunderbolt and USB-C docks, and our wider accessories range.
