PowerWalker PWB12-9 12 V 9 Ah VRLA Battery
PowerWalker12 V · 9 AhVRLAT2 6.3 mm
The PowerWalker PWB12-9 is a 12 V 9 Ah valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) battery block for UPS systems. It is for replacing worn batteries in PowerWalker line-interactive and online UPS units, and in other UPS models that take a standard 12 V 9 Ah block with 6.3 mm (T2) faston terminals.
PowerWalker publishes a design life of 3–5 years, an internal resistance of 23 mΩ and a maximum continuous discharge current of 45 A. The case is ABS to UL94-HB. It is a single block: UPS units with two or more batteries in series need one block per position, all replaced together.
Before you order: The PWB12-9 has the same 151 x 65 x 99 mm case as the PWB12-7 (7 Ah). Replace with the same capacity as the original battery, and replace all blocks in a string at the same time.
What's in the Box
- 1 x PowerWalker PWB12-9 battery block
- No cables or connectors. The battery uses the wiring already in your UPS
What It Means in Practice
- Matches the size and terminals of most 12 V 9 Ah UPS batteries, so it drops into the existing battery bay.
- Sealed and maintenance-free: no topping up and no acid to handle.
- Mixing old and new blocks in one UPS shortens the life of the new ones. Change the whole set.
- Charge fully before relying on it, then run the UPS self-test.
- Old lead-acid blocks must go to an authorised battery collection point, not household waste.
What Will Not Work
- UPS units that need a different terminal size (4.8 mm F1) without changing the connectors.
- Batteries of a different capacity or voltage. One 12 V block cannot replace a 24 V or 48 V cartridge on its own.
- APC RBC cartridges that are delivered pre-wired. For those you would have to move the harness yourself, so a genuine RBC is simpler.
- A UPS with a faulty charger: a new battery will not fix that.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use the PWB12-9 instead of the PWB12-7 (7 Ah)?
The case and terminals are the same, but match the capacity of the original battery and never mix capacities in one string.
How many do I need?
As many as your UPS has blocks. Open the battery bay or check the UPS manual, or send us the UPS model and we will tell you.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
For PowerWalker UPS units this is the like-for-like replacement. For APC units with a pre-wired RBC cartridge, the genuine cartridge is usually the easier fit. If the UPS itself is old, compare a new one in our
UPS range.
✓ Buy it if your UPS takes 12 V 9 Ah blocks with 6.3 mm terminals, especially PowerWalker units.
✕ Skip it if your UPS uses a pre-wired cartridge or a different capacity.
→ Also consider the PWB12-7 (7 Ah) if your original battery is 7 Ah.
Not sure which battery your UPS needs? Send us the UPS model and serial number from the label on the back or underside, and we will confirm the right cartridge before you order.
