Brennenstuhl Eco-Line 13.500A Surge Protection Extension Lead, 3-Way
13,500 A surge protection3 x Schuko at 45°Illuminated switch1.5 m cable
The Brennenstuhl Eco-Line 13.500A 1158810315 is a 3-way Schuko extension lead with built-in surge protection rated for a maximum discharge current of 13,500 A, an illuminated switch and a 1.5 m H05VV-F 3G1.5 cable, for protecting a PC, TV or router corner against voltage spikes on the mains.
A function light shows that the surge protection is active, the sockets sit at 45° so angled plugs fit, and shutters give increased contact protection. It is rated 230 V, 16 A and up to 3500 W.
Before you order: This is a German-standard Schuko product with a CEE 7/7 plug. Cyprus wall sockets are the UK type (BS 1363), so it needs a Schuko-to-UK adapter or an existing Schuko outlet, and UK three-pin plugs will not fit its sockets.
What's in the Box
- 1 x Brennenstuhl Eco-Line 13.500A surge protection extension lead, 3-way, anthracite, with fixed 1.5 m cable and angled Schuko plug
What It Means in Practice
- Spikes from switching loads or nearby lightning are clamped before they reach the connected equipment, up to the rated 13,500 A discharge current.
- Check the function light now and then: when it is off, the protection has done its job and the strip should be replaced.
- Surge protection is not a UPS: during a power cut everything connected still switches off.
- One switch powers the whole group down at the end of the day.
- Through a fused UK adapter the usable load drops to that fuse, normally 13 A (about 3,000 W at 230 V), whatever the strip itself is rated for.
- Add up the wattage on the rating labels of everything you plug in and stay below the rated maximum; heaters, kettles and irons use most of it on their own.
What Will Not Work
- Plugging straight into a Cyprus UK-type (BS 1363) wall socket: the Schuko plug needs an adapter or a Schuko outlet.
- UK three-pin (BS 1363) plugs in the outlets: they take Schuko (CEE 7/4) and two-pin Euro plugs (CEE 7/16) only.
- Outdoor, bathroom or damp-room use: the housing is IP20, for dry indoor rooms only.
- Bridging a power cut: there is no battery. For a router or NAS that must stay up, use a UPS.
- Protecting a phone or network line: this model protects the mains sockets only.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The Eco-Line 13.500A is a sensible minimum for a home office or TV corner where a spike could take out a power supply. It is not a substitute for a UPS on equipment that must ride through outages. Browse the other power strips and extension leads in our range for more sockets, USB charging or switch-only models.
✓ Buy it if you want basic spike protection for a PC, monitor or TV with 3 sockets.
✕ Skip it if you need battery backup, a UK plug without adapter, or more than 3 sockets.
→ Also consider the Eco-Line 13.500A 6-way (1159750015) if three sockets are not enough.
Not sure it fits? Tell us the socket type at your wall and the devices you want to run, and we will check the load and suggest the right strip or adapter before you order.
