Brother TD-2320D — 2-inch direct thermal desktop label printer, 300 dpi
Direct Thermal300 dpiUp to 152 mm/sUSB-C & LAN
The Brother TD-2320D is a 2-inch desktop label printer that prints by direct thermal at 300 dpi and up to 152.4 mm/s (6 ips), made for product, price and small shelf labels, specimen and asset labels, and narrow receipts up to about 60 mm wide.
It connects over USB 2.0 (Type-C), USB Host, Ethernet 10/100, RS-232C (RJ25, adapter needed). ZPL, EPL, DPL and CPCL emulation let it take over from other brands' printers without rewriting label formats. It is a compact, single-user or workgroup printer for counters, packing benches, back offices and small warehouses rather than a 24/7 industrial line printer.
In practice it sits between a PC or POS terminal and a roll of labels: you design labels in label software such as BarTender, or print them straight from your ERP, WMS, e-shop back office or courier portal. Label size, gap and darkness are set once in the driver or by a quick media calibration, and after that every print lands in the same place on the label.
Before you order: This is a direct thermal printer. It needs direct thermal (heat-sensitive) labels and does not use a ribbon. Direct thermal labels darken with heat and fade in sunlight, so for labels that must last outdoors or for years choose a thermal transfer model with a ribbon.
What's in the Box
- Brother TD-2 series printer
- AC adapter and power cord
- USB cable
- Printed setup guide
- No labels — media is ordered separately
What It Means in Practice
- Labels from 15–63 mm (wristbands 15–36 mm) wide on rolls up to 127 mm outside diameter — typical 25 to 58 mm product labels and 58 mm receipt rolls fit; 100 mm shipping labels do not.
- At up to 152.4 mm/s (6 ips) a 50 mm long label prints in roughly 0.3 seconds, so batches of a few hundred labels are a matter of minutes.
- On the network (Ethernet) several PCs can print to it, so one printer can serve a packing bench or an office.
- No ribbon to buy or change: running cost is the labels only, and loading a new roll takes seconds.
- With the optional battery and base it unplugs from the wall and moves to a ward, shop floor or goods-in door: about 13,000 labels (50 × 30 mm) per full charge.
What Will Not Work
- Media wider than 63 mm or rolls larger than 127 mm outside diameter.
- Ribbons and thermal transfer-only labels — this model has no ribbon mechanism.
- Colour printing, photos or ordinary A4 office printing — it prints one colour (black) on label media.
- Serial connection without Brother's adapter cable — the RS-232C port is an RJ25 socket and the adapter is sold separately.
Key Features
ZPL, EPL, DPL and CPCL
Multi-language emulation means it can replace Zebra, Datamax or mobile-printer setups without rewriting label formats.
USB-C, LAN and USB Host
USB-C for the PC, 10/100 LAN for sharing, and a USB Host port for a scanner or keyboard.
Battery option
An optional Li-ion battery and base make it portable for about 13,000 labels per charge.
Cutter or peeler
Auto-cutter and label peeler options turn it into a receipt or print-and-apply printer.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it print my Zebra ZPL labels?
In most cases yes, through Brother's ZPL emulation; EPL, DPL and CPCL are also supported. Test complex formats first — send us a sample and we will check it.
Can it print wristbands?
Yes. Wristband media 15–36 mm wide is supported, as well as labels and receipts up to 63 mm wide.
Do I need the serial adapter?
Only for RS-232C devices. The port is an RJ25 socket, so Brother's serial adapter cable (sold separately) is required.
Can I print courier labels from the carrier website?
Yes. Courier and marketplace portals offer labels as PDF, which prints through the Windows driver once the label size is set. ZPL or EPL files can also be sent to the printer directly, which is faster and keeps barcodes razor-sharp.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The TD-2320D300 is the 300 dpi version of Brother's networked 2-inch printer: small allergen text, pharmacy labels and dense 2D codes stay crisp without giving up speed. LAN and a battery option make it flexible on site. For the wired network connection, use a patch cable from our
network cables range.
✓ Buy it if your 2-inch labels carry small text or 2D codes and must be shared on the network.
✕ Skip it if you only print simple barcodes and large text — the 203 dpi version is enough.
→ Also consider Brother TD-2320D203 (203 dpi) or TD-2135NWB (300 dpi with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth).
