The Brother LT-310CL is a genuine lower paper input tray that adds 250 sheets to Brother's compact colour lasers, including the HL-L8240CDW printer and MFC-L8390CDW multifunction.
It is the only optional paper tray Brother offers for this printer generation, so it is the way to keep two paper types loaded or simply refill less often.
Before you order: The LT-310CL is listed by Brother for the HL-L8240CDW and MFC-L8390CDW. It is not interchangeable with the 520-sheet LT-360CL or the LT-350CL used by the HL-L8570CDW / MFC-L8970CDW.

What It Means in Practice
- Adds 250 sheets, giving you the standard tray plus one extra paper source.
- Only one LT-310CL can be fitted — Brother does not allow stacking two of them on this series.
- Typical use: plain A4 in the main tray and letterhead, recycled or thicker stock in the lower tray, selected from the driver.
- Install it under the printer; the printer recognises the extra tray once fitted.
What Will Not Work
- HL-L8570CDW, HL-L8430CDW and MFC-L8970CDW — they use LT-350CL / LT-360CL.
- HL-L9xxx / MFC-L9xxx colour lasers and Brother mono lasers.
- A second LT-310CL on the same printer — one optional tray is the maximum.
