The Brother LT-340CL is a genuine optional lower paper tray that adds 500 sheets of 80 g/m2 paper - a full ream - to the HL-L8360CDW, HL-L9310CDW, MFC-L8900CDW, MFC-L9570CDW and the HL-L9430CDN / HL-L9470CDN / MFC-L9630CDN / MFC-L9635CDN / MFC-L9670CDN business colour lasers. It is the tray to choose when the goal is fewer paper refills on a busy shared printer.
The tray sits under the printer and is detected as an additional paper source. On supported models up to two lower trays can be fitted, so total input can be raised substantially without moving to a larger machine.
Before you order: LT-340CL does NOT fit the HL-L8260CDW, DCP-L8410CDW or MFC-L8690CDW - those models accept only the 250-sheet LT-330CL. Check the model name on the front of your printer before ordering.

What It Means in Practice
- A full 500-sheet ream fits in one go, so a printer that runs through a ream a day needs refilling half as often.
- Paper weight 60-105 g/m2: plain, letterhead, coloured, thin and recycled paper. Labels, envelopes and card stay in the printer's MP tray.
- After fitting, enable the extra tray in the printer driver settings so Windows or macOS can route jobs to it.
What Will Not Work
- Not compatible with HL-L8260CDW, DCP-L8410CDW or MFC-L8690CDW (use LT-330CL).
- Not for the compact HL-L3200, DCP-L3500 or MFC-L3700 colour series, nor for HL-L8230CDW / HL-L8240CDW.
- It does not accept card above 105 g/m2, labels or envelopes, and does not add duplex or finishing functions.

For a shared HL-L8360CDW or MFC-L8900CDW the LT-340CL is usually the better buy than the 250-sheet tray: it holds a full ream and cuts refill interruptions. The one trap is model fit - the HL-L8260CDW, DCP-L8410CDW and MFC-L8690CDW cannot take it. Toners and drums for these printers are in our printer accessories range.
