Canon DADF-AV1 Duplexing Automatic Document Feeder

100 sheetsReversing duplex70 ipm (1-sided, 300 dpi)Genuine Canon

The Canon DADF-AV1 is a 100-sheet reversing duplex automatic document feeder for Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE C3500 III and 4500 III series MFPs.

It scans and copies multi-page and double-sided originals automatically, for offices whose MFP was configured with a platen cover only, or that prefer the reversing feeder to the single-pass option.

Before you order: Only one document feeder can be fitted. The C3500 III also offers the single-pass DADF-B1, and the 4500 III the single-pass DADF-A1, which scan both sides at once and are faster for duplex.

What's in the Box

  • 1 × Canon DADF-AV1 duplexing automatic document feeder

What It Means in Practice

  • Capacity 100 sheets (80 g/m²).
  • Originals A3, A4, A4R, A5, A5R, B4, B5, B5R, B6; custom 139.7 × 128 to 297 × 431.8 mm.
  • Media: 1-sided 38–128 g/m² (BW) / 64–128 g/m² (colour); 2-sided 50–128 g/m² (BW) / 64–128 g/m² (colour).
  • Scan speed (A4): 1-sided 70 ipm (300 dpi) / 51 ipm (600 dpi); 2-sided 35 / 25.5 ipm.

What Will Not Work

  • Single-pass duplex scanning — that needs DADF-A1 (4500 III) or DADF-B1 (C3500 III).
  • Fitting together with another document feeder.
  • imageRUNNER ADVANCE models outside the series Canon lists.

Frequently Asked Questions

Reversing or single-pass?
DADF-AV1 is reversing: it flips each page to scan the second side. Single-pass DADF-A1/B1 scan both sides at once.
Can I fit two feeders?
No — only one feeder per device.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The DADF-AV1 is the value choice for C3500 III / 4500 III MFPs that mostly scan single-sided originals; for heavy duplex scanning the single-pass DADF-A1/B1 is faster. See our printer accessories range.
✓ Buy it if your C3500 III or 4500 III needs a document feeder and duplex speed is not critical.
✕ Skip it if you scan many double-sided originals daily — choose the single-pass feeder.
→ Also consider the DADF-B1 (C3500 III) or DADF-A1 (4500 III) single-pass feeders.
Not sure it fits? Send us your Canon model (from the label or the device menu) and we will confirm compatibility before you order.
