Good Connections 8070R-005 Cat 6A S/FTP Patch Cable 0.5 m Grey

Cat 7 raw-cable patch lead with shielded Cat 6A RJ45 plugs and latch-guard boots
Cat 6A S/FTP0.5 m500 MHzGrey

The Good Connections 8070R-005 is a 0.5 m grey Cat 6A S/FTP RJ45 patch cable built on Cat 7 S/FTP PiMF raw cable with 99.9 % OFC AWG 26 conductors and shielded Cat 6A plugs, made for short 10 Gbps patching in racks, between switches and patch panels, and at the desk.

Good Connections' 8070R series pairs a heavily shielded Cat 7 raw cable with an RNS latch-guard boot that stops the RJ45 clip from snagging or snapping. Because the connectors are RJ45 Cat 6A, the finished cord performs as a Cat 6A (Class EA, 500 MHz) link.

Part number 8070R-005 (EAN 4014619323784). Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.

Before you buy
"Cat 7" here describes the raw cable only. With RJ45 plugs the cord performs as Cat 6A / 500 MHz — perfect for 10GBASE-T, but it does not create a Cat 7 (GG45/TERA) channel. The S/FTP shield is only grounded when both ends are shielded RJ45 ports.

Key Features

Cat 7 S/FTP PiMF raw cable
Foil around every pair plus an overall braid gives strong protection against crosstalk and EMI in crowded racks.

RNS latch-guard boot
The Rastnasenschutz boot shields the RJ45 latch so it does not snag or break when you pull the cord through a bundle.

Halogen-free LSZH jacket
Flame-retardant, low-smoke zero-halogen sheath (IEC 60332-1, 60754-2, 61034) for offices and server rooms.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Good Connections 8070R-005 a real Cat 7 cable?
The raw cable is Cat 7 S/FTP, but the RJ45 plugs are Cat 6A, so the finished 8070R-005 performs as a Cat 6A (500 MHz) patch cord — which fully covers 10 Gbps Ethernet.
Does the 8070R-005 support 10 Gigabit Ethernet?
Yes. A 0.5 m Cat 6A S/FTP cord comfortably supports 10GBASE-T between switches, NAS units and servers.
What is RNS on the 8070R-005?
RNS (Rastnasenschutz) is a latch-guard boot that protects the RJ45 clip from snagging and breaking during cable pulls.
Singular Expert Insight
The 8070R-005 is a premium-feeling short patch for 10 Gbps network switches and servers where you want a thick shield and a latch that survives rack work. Cat 7 raw cable adds robustness, not speed — a plain Cat 6A S/FTP cord delivers the same 10 Gbps if price matters more.

Buyer's Guide

Buy it if
You need a 0.5 m shielded 10 Gbps jumper with a snag-proof latch for a rack or desk.
Skip it if
You need ultra-slim cords for very dense panels, or unshielded cabling throughout.
Also consider
A slim Cat 6A U/UTP cord for dense patch panels, or a standard Cat 6A S/FTP cord at lower cost.
