CHERRY DC 2000 — Corded Keyboard and Mouse Desktop Set, Hungarian, Black
GS certified4 hotkeysLaser-etched keysSymmetrical mouse
The CHERRY DC 2000 (JD-0800HU-2) is a wired office set from a company that has been making keyboards in Germany since 1953, and it shows in the details that matter over years rather than weeks. The keyboard is flat and full size, 105 keys plus four hotkeys for the calculator, e-mail, browser and standby, with rubberdome switches rated at up to 10 million actuations and laser-etched legends that do not rub off. It is GS certified for professional office use, carries three blue status LEDs and integrated tilt feet, and measures 458 × 170 × 20 mm. The mouse is a symmetrical three-button shape with a scroll wheel that suits left and right hands equally, 109 × 62 × 37 mm and 118 g, using a PixArt optical sensor. Both are plug and play over USB on 180 cm cables. CHERRY publishes a PAS 1049 recycling pass for the set. In the box: keyboard, mouse and manual.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Layout: Hungarian QWERTZ swaps Y and Z and puts Ö, Ü, Ó, É, Á and the other Hungarian accented letters on dedicated keys, moving most symbols and brackets compared with a US or UK keyboard. Choose it only if you type in Hungarian; for English use in Cyprus ask us for the US or UK version of the same model. This is a wired USB set, so there is nothing to charge or pair and it works in the BIOS and in boot menus. It needs two free USB-A ports, one per device. There is no wireless option, no Bluetooth, no backlight, no N-key rollover or anti-ghosting and no palm rest. CHERRY lists Windows 7, 8, 10 and 11 only — no macOS or Linux claim — and the free CHERRY KEYS utility can remap keys on Windows. One honest caveat on the mouse: CHERRY publishes two different resolutions for it, 1,200 dpi in its highlights and 1,600 dpi in the technical table of the same datasheet, and has never reconciled them; we print both rather than pick one. CHERRY publishes no spill rating for this set and no key travel figure.
Best For
✓ Offices standardising on one wired set across many desks
✓ Workplaces that require GS-certified equipment
✓ Left-handed users, thanks to the symmetrical mouse
✓ Machines that need keyboard access before Windows loads
✓ Desks where key legends normally wear off within a year
✓ Data entry, thanks to the full number pad
Key Features
Legends that survive the job
Laser-etched key labelling instead of printed legends — the reason a CHERRY board still reads correctly after five years on a shared desk.
GS certified
Independently certified for safe professional office use, which matters when a purchasing department has to justify the choice.
Four hotkeys where you want them
Calculator, e-mail, browser and standby on dedicated keys rather than buried behind an Fn combination.
A mouse either hand can use
The symmetrical shape works the same left-handed, which quietly solves a problem most bundled sets ignore.

Frequently Asked Questions
So is the mouse 1,200 or 1,600 dpi?
CHERRY publishes both figures in its own material and has not corrected either. For office work the difference is small; if tracking resolution decides your purchase, tell us and we will suggest a mouse with one published figure.
Does it work before Windows loads?
Yes. Both devices are wired USB, so they are available in the BIOS and in boot menus.
Is it spill resistant?
CHERRY publishes no spill rating for the DC 2000 and the manual simply warns against liquid getting inside. Treat it as a normal office set.
Which layout is this part number?
This one is Hungarian. CHERRY publishes fifteen layout variants of the DC 2000 under separate part numbers, so we can order almost any national version.
Singular Expert Insight
The DC 2000 is what we recommend when a wired set has to last: laser-etched legends, GS certification and CHERRY’s own build quality for not much more than a throwaway board. If you want the same feel without the cable, the KW 3000 is the wireless keyboard from the same family. See our
