CHERRY MP 1000 — Premium XL Mouse Pad, Black
Sewn edges5 mm thickRubberised base2-year term
The MP 1000 is CHERRY’s office pad, and it is noticeably more substantial than the thin gaming mats: 350 x 300 mm at 5 mm thick. The surface is smooth fabric — CHERRY’s wording is that the mouse slides fluidly over it — with a special sewn border that prevents fraying, which is the part of a cloth pad that normally fails first. The base is rubberised and non-slip. It is suitable for all mouse sensors, it rolls up for transport, and CHERRY makes a point of it being easy to clean: wipe it dry or clean it by hand after a spill. It is black, and CHERRY publishes a 2-year warranty on it.
Compatibility — check before buying:
At 5 mm this is a thick pad by current standards. That is deliberate: it cushions the mouse against a hard desktop and quietens clicking, at the cost of sitting the mouse a little higher than a 2 mm gaming mat would. If you are used to a paper-thin mat, expect the difference. The footprint of 350 x 300 mm is generous for office work and workable for gaming, though dedicated low-sensitivity players usually want more width. There is no wrist rest. CHERRY publishes no weight for it and does not label the surface as speed or control — its own wording is a smooth fabric surface with highest precision, so we quote that rather than inventing a friction rating. Cleaning is by hand or a wipe; CHERRY makes no machine-wash claim.
Best For
✓ Office desks that want a substantial, quiet pad
✓ Hard desktops where a thin mat feels harsh
✓ Anyone whose old pad has frayed at the edge
✓ All mouse sensor types
✓ Desks that need one pad for work and occasional play
✓ Users who move between desks, since it rolls
Key Features
A sewn border
CHERRY adds a stitched border specifically to stop the pad fraying — the reason a cloth pad stops looking presentable long before it stops working.
Thicker, and quieter
At 5 mm it absorbs the click and the mouse movement instead of transmitting them into a hard desktop.
Wipe it after a spill
CHERRY states outright that you can simply wipe the pad dry or clean it by hand — unusual candour for a fabric pad.
Every sensor
Suitable for all mouse sensors, so it works under an old office mouse and a current optical gaming one alike.

Singular Expert Insight
CHERRY builds office peripherals, and this reads like one: thick, quiet, sewn at the edge, and covered by a published two-year term — which is more than most mouse pads carry at any price. For gaming sweeps, buy a thinner, wider cloth mat. See our mouse pads and wrist rests and our wired mice.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want a substantial, quiet, sewn-edge office pad at 350 x 300 mm with a real manufacturer warranty behind it.
Skip it if

The CHERRY XTRFY GP5 if you want a fast gaming surface, or a Fellowes pad with a built-in wrist rest.
