CHERRY STREAM 3.0 — Wired USB Keyboard, Swiss, Pale Grey
SX scissor keys20 M+ operationsLaser inscriptionBlue Angel
The CHERRY STREAM 3.0 (G85-23200CH-0) is what CHERRY calls the workhorse for continuous use, and the numbers back the phrase up: CHERRY SX scissor keys rated at more than 20 million key operations and an MTBF above 80,000 hours — roughly double what an ordinary office keyboard claims. It is 105 keys plus six hotkeys for volume and media control, in an ultra-flat ergonomic case just 18 mm thick and 472 mm wide, weighing a substantial 936 g that keeps it planted on the desk. The keycaps are laser inscribed, so the legends do not rub off, it is spill resistant, it draws at most 25 mA over its 1.80 m USB cable, and it carries blue status LEDs and the Blue Angel environmental seal. In the box: the keyboard and printed operating instructions.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Layout: Swiss QWERTZ swaps Y and Z, puts the accented vowels on the keys right of P and L, and moves most symbols compared with a US or UK keyboard. Choose it only if you type in Swiss German or French; for English use in Cyprus ask us for the US or UK version of the same model. This is a wired USB keyboard, plug and play with no software to install, so it works in the BIOS and in boot menus. There is no wireless option, no Bluetooth, no backlight and no palm rest. One thing to know before you standardise on it: CHERRY has archived the STREAM 3.0 — it no longer appears anywhere on cherry.de and its successor is the CHERRY STREAM KEYBOARD, which is a different, smaller board. The STREAM 3.0 is still exactly as specified and still supported, but tell us before you commit a fleet to it. CHERRY publishes no key travel, no actuating force and no tilt angle for this model, and its spill resistance carries no millilitre or IP figure. Operating range is 0 to 40 °C.

Key Features
Over twenty million operations
More than double the usual office rating, on CHERRY SX scissor keys, with a published MTBF above 80,000 hours.
Laser-inscribed keycaps
Abrasion-resistant laser inscription rather than printed legends — the letters are still there after years on a shared desk.
Six hotkeys, no software
Volume and media player control on dedicated keys, with nothing to install on any machine.
Blue Angel certified
CHERRY holds the Blue Angel environmental seal for this keyboard, which is a hard requirement in some public-sector tenders.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the STREAM 3.0 still current?
No — CHERRY has archived it and moved on to the CHERRY STREAM KEYBOARD, which is a different, smaller board with different figures. The STREAM 3.0 still works exactly as specified, but tell us before you standardise a fleet on it.
Why is it so heavy?
936 g is deliberate. A heavy, flat keyboard does not slide around under a fast typist, which is part of what CHERRY means by a workhorse for continuous use.
Will the letters wear off?
No. The keycaps are laser inscribed rather than printed, which is the single biggest difference between a CHERRY board and a cheap one after a few years.
Which layout and colour is this part number?
This one is Swiss in pale grey. CHERRY published the STREAM 3.0 in around a dozen layouts across pale grey and black — the -0 suffix is pale grey and -2 is black, so do not order the wrong one by one character.
Singular Expert Insight
If somebody types for a living, this is the board to give them: twenty million operations, laser legends and a weight that stays put. The one caveat is that CHERRY has archived it — for a new fleet ask us about the current STREAM KEYBOARD instead. See our

Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want a heavy, flat, very durable wired keyboard with hotkeys and legends that will never wear off, in Swiss layout.
Skip it if
