CHERRY STREAM KEYBOARD — Wired Office Keyboard, Portuguese, Black / Grey
SX scissor keys10 extra function keys18 mm slimPlug-and-play USB-A
The CHERRY STREAM KEYBOARD (JK-8500PO-2) is the office keyboard CHERRY has been refining for years, and it is built for one thing: typing all day in a room where other people are also working. The SX scissor mechanism gives a short, precise stroke with a soft landing, so it stays quiet without feeling vague under the finger. On top of the standard 105-key layout there are ten extra function keys for volume, media and browser control. The body is 463 × 163 × 18 mm — slim enough to keep your wrists closer to neutral — and the keyboard carries the GS safety mark, which also certifies compliance with the relevant European directives. This part number is the Portuguese layout in black / grey. In the box: keyboard with fixed USB cable and documentation.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Layout: Portuguese QWERTY keeps the QWERTY letters but adds Ç next to L, uses dead keys for accents and moves most symbols and brackets away from where a US or UK keyboard has them. Choose it only if you type in Portuguese; for English use in Cyprus ask us for the US or UK version of the same model. This is a wired USB-A keyboard with a fixed cable — there is no wireless version of this part number, and a USB-C-only laptop needs an adapter or a dock. There is no backlight and no palm rest; at 18 mm high it is designed to be used flat or on the tilt feet, so add a separate rest if you want wrist support. The SX scissor keys are quiet, but they are not mechanical MX switches — if you specifically want CHERRY MX feel, ask us for an MX-based board. CHERRY lists Windows; the keyboard follows standard USB HID so it types on macOS and Linux too, with the keys labelled for Windows. CHERRY does not publish a weight or a cable length for this model.
Best For
✓ Open-plan offices where keyboard noise is a complaint
✓ All-day typing, correspondence and data entry
✓ Call centres and shared workstations
✓ Replacing a worn keyboard whose legends have rubbed off
✓ Sites that need a keyboard with a recognised safety mark
✓ Desks that want a full numeric pad in a slim body
Key Features
CHERRY SX scissor mechanism
A short, defined stroke with a quiet landing — the point of the STREAM is that the person at the next desk stops noticing you type.
Ten extra function keys
Volume, media and browser keys sit above the standard layout instead of being hidden behind an Fn combination.
GS approved
The GS safety mark also certifies compliance with the relevant European directives — the kind of detail a purchasing department checks.
Slim without being flimsy
463 × 163 mm at just 18 mm high, so it takes little desk depth and keeps the wrist angle low.

Singular Expert Insight
This is the keyboard we hand to offices tired of replacing cheap boards every two years. If the desk needs to be cable-free, buy the STREAM KEYBOARD WIRELESS instead — same keystroke, three-year batteries. Browse the rest of our keyboards or add a matching mouse from our wireless mice.
