Cisco QSFP-100G-LR-S= QSFP28 Transceiver 100GBASE-LR1 Single Lambda 1310 nm Duplex LC Single-Mode up to 10 km
Cisco QSFP-100G-LR-S= — 100G LR1 Single-Lambda, 10 km
The Cisco QSFP-100G-LR-S= is a 100GBASE-LR1 QSFP28 transceiver that carries 100 Gbps on a single 1310 nm wavelength, using PAM4 with onboard FEC, up to 10 km over single-mode fibre. It is used for 100G links between buildings and sites on Cisco switches. Although the feed describes it as “100GBase-LR”, Cisco lists it as LR1 — a different standard from the familiar four-wavelength LR4. In practice, single-mode optics are the choice when a link leaves the building or runs several hundred metres: the OS2 fibre used by carriers and campus backbones carries the signal for kilometres with little loss. Before you order, confirm the fibre is single-mode at both ends and note the length and the number of patch panels on the way.
