Cisco 1000 W AC Power Supply for Catalyst 9200 and 9200L 48-Port PoE+ Switches, Hot-Swappable Spare Module

The Cisco PWR-C5-1KWAC= is the 1000 W AC power supply module (spare) for the 48-port PoE+ models of the Cisco Catalyst 9200 and 9200L switch families. Network teams use it to replace a failed unit, add a second redundant supply, or raise the PoE budget available to cameras, access points and phones.

It accepts 100–240 V AC and delivers up to 1000 W at 54 V. On the Catalyst 9200L 48-port PoE models, Cisco quotes 740 W of PoE with one 1000 W supply and 1440 W with two. The module slides into the rear power bay; a redundant (second) module is hot-swappable.

• Adding a second 1000 W supply to a C9200L-48P raises the PoE budget from 740 W to 1440 W — enough to power far more PoE+ access points and cameras.
• Two supplies also give power redundancy: if one fails, the switch keeps running and the failed module can be swapped without downtime.
• Both power bays must be filled with a supply or a blank cover — do not leave a bay open for more than 90 seconds while the switch is running.
• On the non-L Catalyst 9200, Cisco allows mixing the PWR-C5 and PWR-C6 variants in slots A and B; on the 9200L, only PWR-C5 supplies are supported.

• Not compatible with Catalyst 9200/9200L 24-port or non-PoE (T) models — they need a different wattage supply.
• Will not fit Catalyst 9300 (PWR-C1-* supplies) or Catalyst 9400 chassis.
• Not a DC supply — for -48 V DC sites a different Cisco module is required.
• Cannot be used outside the switch as a standalone power supply.
