The Cisco Headset 561 Wireless Single with Multibase Station is a one-ear DECT wireless headset from Cisco, built for people who live on Cisco IP desk phones and soft clients such as Webex App and Jabber. One ear stays free, so you can hear colleagues and the room while you talk — a good fit for reception, retail and supervisors.
The Multibase Station is the version to choose if you juggle sources: it connects to a Cisco desk phone, a laptop and a mobile phone at the same time (USB, micro-USB and Bluetooth 4.2), and you move the headset between them from the base.
Before you order: On Cisco IP Phone 7800 Series phones powered by PoE, the Multibase must run from its own mains adapter — Cisco lists the Multibase as incompatible with 7800 phones using PoE only. The 7811 and 7832 are not supported at all.

What It Means in Practice
- Walk away from the desk while on a call: Cisco quotes up to 100 m range (about 45 m by default; the administrator can raise it).
- A full day on one charge for most users — up to 10 hours of active use and up to 60 hours standby; a full charge takes about 3 hours on the base.
- Take a mobile call over Bluetooth and a Webex meeting on the laptop without swapping headsets — the base remembers up to 4 Bluetooth devices.
- Up to 3 guest headsets can join a call on the same base (firmware 2.1(1) or later) — handy for training and supervision.
What Will Not Work
- Cisco IP Phone 7811 and 7832 — not supported.
- Cisco 6800 Series other than the 6871 (for example 6821, 6841, 6851, 6861) — not supported with the wireless 560 headsets.
- Bluetooth on 8851NR and 8865NR phones — those models have no Bluetooth radio; use USB or the Y-cable.
- Ear pads from the Cisco 520/530 wired series — they do not fit; the 560 series uses its own spare pads (CP-HS-WL-5EC8=).

The 560 series makes most sense in offices already standardised on Cisco 8800 phones and Webex: the phone recognises the headset and IT can manage it centrally. Pick the Multibase if anyone needs mobile or laptop calls on the same headset; it is also the version that copes with three sources at once. Desk phones are usually powered from PoE switches — on 7800 phones keep the base on its own adapter.
✓ Buy it if you use Cisco 8800, 7821/7841/7861 or 6871 phones and want a cordless headset that integrates with them.
✕ Skip it if your phones are Cisco 7811/7832 or 6821–6861, or you need a non-Cisco DECT system.
→ Also consider the Standard Base version (CP-HS-WL-561-S-EU=) if you only need one source; the wired Cisco 531/532 for lowest cost.
